Beetle Mania

I’ve got a bit of an early update for you this week.

First, I’m very happy to say that we have indeed been given the green light for another extension – the collection will now ‘end’ at 180 issues.

Speaking to the head-honchos, it would appear that at the last extension we were nearly given the go-ahead to go to 180. Apparently a few logistical issues needed to be sorted before we could 100% confirm the series would go to 180 – hence the move to 160 first.

Of course this means the usual lists of wants are going to appear again as well as the debate here and on the forums. For this extension I (Eaglemoss) will once again be choosing the majority, however, I am happy to try and run a competition or two as well as give a couple of slots to a vote on the superherofigurineforum.

At the moment I have not finalized all our picks or decided how many figures to let you guys choose but I think a good balance would be Eaglemoss to choose 15 and the fans (one way or another) to choose 5.

More info will be coming shortly but to get the ball rolling I’m going to confirm one figure this week. That character is… the Beetle.

The character first appeared in Strange Tales #123 fighting the Human Torch. Although he’s not the most famous of Marvel Super Villains, the Beetle is a classic villain who has turned up fighting pretty much all Marvel’s stars. He’s tangled with the FF, Spider-Man, Daredevil, Iron Man and the Avengers. He’s also been a member of the Thunderbolts.

Personally, I think his costume looks great and he’ll make an awesome figurine. I like the original costume as well as the second one (both are below). The character nearly made it into the first 160 issues but was just pipped to the post by Balder.

On to specials news.
As most of you know we’ve been looking at either Omega Red or Ronan the Accuser as the next regular sized special. I’ve been working hard with our sculptors to produce both these figurines, but a few issues with Omega Red have put him behind schedule, making Ronan more likely. Nothing is confirmed yet but I thought you’d appreciate the update. Below is the rough sculpt for Ronan, it’s a classic pose I’m sure most are familiar with but let me know what you think.

Hopefully we’ll have some Omega Red shots in soon and you guys can compare the two.

Right, that’s your lot, enjoy!

Great news on the latest confirmed extension , Please go with the classic beetle outfit.
Ronan will be a worthy special

Wow thank you so much for the news Rich. Already another extansion confirmed is so great. Plus Beetle, is definitely a great choice to start the new extansion.

Ronan is a special i've been wanting for a while, and i'm really glad he will be made soon. He does look good, and I can't wait for it.

As for the new extansion here are some of my most wanted characters: (Longshot, Arachne, Gamora, Magik, Phyla-Vell, Karnak, Monet, Wolfsbane, Meggan, Vermin, Moonstone, Jessica Jones, Photon, Rocket Raccoon, Mantis and StarLord)

Such kind words at the end of the last topic... I feel the love.

At last an update to clear the air.
That musty smell of wet Beast was becoming rather oppresive.

May I suggest that you put each bloggers name in a hat - particular those uf us who are the life and soul of the party (maybe include my name two or three times just for luck).

Then pick out 5 names all of whom will get to choose a figure.

Ronan looks very good so far and I fully endorse the inclusion of the Beetle.

PS Did you really think I could possibly keep quiet for more than five minutes?

Just to clarify the figure blank idea: -

Would the MOSS Men allow unpainted versions of figures already released to be sold without a magazine or special packaging to help the modders on their way?

Surely a £3 blank would be better than a full price figurine that you would then have to strip the paint from.

PS. I noticed that Aesir and American Dream seem to have a picture sharing problem .... maybe they are in cahoots.

jarvis69 said...

Beetle.....at last ! I'll be happy with the original or the second version , no pbls for me ! lol
About the confirmation of the extention....we'll have a LOT of lists soon......lol ( and cheaters for the votes...:( )

Deadpool said...

Bonsoir mon Amis.

Have you had any luck getting your hands on the especials you were after - Jarv.

I wonder if we could persuade the Moss Men to allow a blogger (ie me) to choose a character for a Special or even double pack.

PS If we must have Cannonball, then I would prefer him blasting off rather than posing in his Ballroom gown.

jarvis69 said...

Deadpool , it seems that we'll get the Kingpin only in April.......We're REALLY late here on the continent ! lol

Gremlin said...

Whoa - I really did not expect info on the next extension so soon. AWESOME.

Beetle is a character I have heard people ask for for a few extensions now so it comes as no surprise to get him. Great choice and great look.

As for Ronan. What can I say but he is amazing. "Classic" pose and I cannot wait to see the final version.

Great work guys.

Just give us Forge, Photon, Tigershark, Hydroman Deathbird and Brother Voodoo please :)

Thor8 said...

Glad to see the Beetle was chosen for the next extension, but does this mean that his ID as Mach IV will not see the light of day?

Ronan's pose is great I'd really would love to see a Battle Armour Thor special in a similiar pose!(Hint! Hint!)

As mentioned before I'd prefer that you show us the chosen for this extension one at a time please, and if possible give two collectors this time around the opportunity to win the honor of picking a hero. Y'know like me and some other lucky winner!

Will be putting together my want list for my next comment, meanwhile think "SWORDSMAN"!

Great news about The Beetle, always liked him and it's brilliant that he's gonna be part of this collection. It kinda sucks that Omega Red is not next in line but aslong as he gets made I guess I don't really mind.

Deadpool said...

Great idea Thor.
That's you and me picking a figure each... so far.

May I also suggest Ted, Jarvis and Max as the other 3 figure selectors.

Now that's sorted out I too would like to see a Battle Armour Thor figurine too.

Now that the popularity of the Norse figures has more subscribers, You, Me and Aesir; maybe we could form a pressure group to ensure the Moss men reserve the slots.

May I also suggest that there is a bit more secrecy about future releases.

Just like Christmas, it's always nice to have a suprise, so I hope Richard dripfeeds the new figures rather than telling us all at once.

The extension to 180 is awesome!!! Thanks so much Richard!

Below are my suggestions for characters we should have
and why...

161. SUNSPOT
Possibly the most iconic New Mutant. Looks amazing in full solar energy absorption mode.

162. HYPERION
Squadron Supreme have been part of pivotal Marvel events. Amazing costume, also.

163. STINGRAY
Quite simply one of the best costumes designed in recent years.
Interesting non-classic Avenger.

164. DANGER
The X-men room alive! Looks wicked and has huge X history to cover in the magazine.

165. GARGOYLE
To complete the Defenders. Also, fills a gap in figurines of demonic/gothic creatures.

166. PHOTON
Great costume, great female avenger.

167. STARHAWK
An iconic ancillary character, and Guardian of Galaxy are poorly represented so far.

168. ATTUMA
Looks amazing, and a much needed Namor villain figurine.

169. GRAVITY
Has been involved in huge Marvel events, and looks too cool to miss.

170. MAGMA
New Mutant girl with super interesting history to cover in magazine. Her kaleidoscopic, magmatic swirls would make a beautiful figurine,

171. NIMROD
Hugely important sentinel, and a much needed figurine with robotic/technological features.

172. CROSSBONES
New-generation Cap villains are poorly represented. This one has the edge.

173. SLEEPWALKER
The one and only from the Mindscape dimension, and the star of a successful self-titled series.
Amazing features and costume.

174. DR SPECTRUM
Key member of Squadron Supreme, only secodn to Hyperion, owner of one of the best Marvel costume ever. Would look awesome.

175. FIREBIRD
The pyrokinetic Avenger girl, who would look awesome in a pose where she's spreading her cape and in flames.

176. XORN
The real Xorn (not Magneto in disguise) is a much needed representative of Morrison's X-Men run. Awesome head to sculpt.

177. HULKLING
Most iconic and much needed representative of the Young Avengers.

178. VERTIGO
This Marauder girl is foxy and has a beautiful psychedelic costume.

179. KARNAK
Impossible to think of the Inhumans without him. His distinctive features would make a fab figurine.

180. DARKHAWK
One of the most memorable Marvel creation of the Nineties, and a much needed techno/armoured figurine.

Wow! I fully expected an extension to 180. I did not however, expect it to be announced within the next 6 months, let alone now. Fantastic news!

Not a huge fan of Beetle, but I grant he's a worthy enough character. I prefer him more as Mach IV, but if its going to be Beetle, then I'd much rather have the second costume!

Hopefully we can get a young avenger thrown in as a curveball. Wiccan probably.

Deadpool said...

Kirlianeyes.
That's one of the best posts I've read so far (with the exception of mine of course).

You've set the standard now for lists.

I hope everyone else follows your example if they decide to produce their own lists.

Deadpool said...

Ok I know I will be accussed of blog hogging but please be patient, after all I am a fragile shrinking violet.

How many regular bloggers visit here .... around 20 or so.

That would allow each regular blogger to choose a figurine for the collection.

Now wouldn't that be cool.

Anonymous said...

Yay for the extension!!

And the second Beetle costume please. The first one doesn't even look like a beetle. It looks goofy. :D

And Ronan The Accusar looks amazing. I say put him in as the next special instead of Omega Red. That way the non-X fans won't complain so much. Plus he gives FF and Cosmic fans both a choice. :D

Killer Frost said...

Very cool news on the new extension i hope we can see some more NEW MUTANTS since the group was finally started with the inclusion of Cannonball.

I hope that we can finally get LONGSHOT & SILVER SAMURAI as well.

juanico said...

Thank you!
Ronan is great...
As you said, the pose is classic but it's just what this charcater needed...
...hum...just asking...
Is the hammer big enough?

Anonymous said...

Let's see.... what do I want.

161. Beetle - Nuff Said.

162. Avalanche - Still think he'd work better in a 2-Pack with Pyro. But single is good also.

163. Arachne - Avenger. And along with Avalanche, rounds out Mystique's Freedom Force.

164. Karnak - Wraps up the major Inhumans. Then we just need a Lockjaw special.

165. Tiger Shark - Pretty much the last high ranking vote getter to not get included so far.

166. Mockingbird - Since her return from the "dead", a fairly prominant character again.

167. Madame Masque - A female and Iron Man Baddy. Double the pleasure, double the fun.

168. Forge - One of the longer running X-Men team members who haven't been included yet.

169. Hydro-Man - The prominant Spidey baddies are almost done. HM Should look great.

170. Gargoyle - Would round out the prominant Defenders members. And a great look.

171. Shamen - Another addition to Alpha Flight. And hopefully we'll get a Sassy/Puck 2-pack.

172. Selene - With Necrosha, it sounds like a good time to add Selene to the collection.

173. The Beyonder - Would have been nice to have gotten him in 2009 for the 25th Anniversary.

174. The Wizard - Mentioned quite often by Rich on the blog. Seems like a no brainer.

175. Dracula - Marvel Horror's most prominent character. Even showed up in Uncanny X-Men.

176. Magik - Another New Mutant. Hopefully in her half armored form with the soul sword.

177. Rocket Raccoon - Love him. And really think he'd make a great addition to the collection.

178. Phylla-Vell - We have Moondragon. Now we need her lover, but not in her Martyr look. Ugh.

179. Dark Beast - Did well in the X-Villains poll. Hopefully he'll finally happen for the collection.

180. Patriot - I'd like to see Eaglemoss at least start on the Young Avengers team.

Specials:

M.O.D.O.K.
Sasquatch and Puck
Nimrod
Hulkling
Odin (Comic Style - Tie-In for Thor Movie)

great news on another extension. was fully expecting beetle to make the cut this time around. would prefer him done in the second costume.

ronan looks amazing. hopefully we'll get omega red as well. my x-villains shelf is still pretty empty and any more would be welcome. also, we are all still awaiting the confirmation of the beaubier twins double pack.

please, please, please consider JJJ for a spiderman slot this extension. it was all allies last time so hoping for 2 foes this time. i'm assuming hydro-man is in for one of them so let the other be JJJ

Gremlin said...

I forgot to say in my earlier post that I prefer Beetle's second costume. his first looks rather cheesy and his second is the one I am more familiar with.

Anonymous said...

No offense, but I don't really wanna see Civilians in the line-up. And once you include JJJ, you're going to open the floodgates on Mary Jane, Aunt May, Gwen Stacy, Jarvis, Moira McTaggart, and so on and so on. Not that I wouldn't love a Moira and Proteus 2-Pack. I just think there's a lot of more important characters to tackle before we start mining civilians. Who traditionally in merchadise just do not sell.

When it comes to Spider-Man villains we still have The Spot, Grizzly, Kangaroo, Gibbon, The Jackal, etc. So Spidey still has a few good baddies left to do.

mighty_marvel said...

no offense but i really don't want to see second rate d-list characters in ahead of one of the most important marvel characters ever, regardless of whether or not he is a 'civilian'.

besides JJJ is different to other non-powered people in that he actually has an emnity with the hero and has been heavily involved in storylines where he has tried to bring him down.

spidey_1979 said...

definitely hydro-man, possibly jackal and tombstone will be done before JJJ but can't see how anyone else can be justified ahead of him in the spidey category. certainly not the list of losers you have come up with cbr beast.

would love JJJ in the collection a some point. if not this extension then surely the next must be his time. don't agree that it would 'open the floodgates' for other civilians. only one spoken about with any regularity by many people is JJJ. the others are barely ever mentioned.

onto other matters, the second beetle costume is better. and ronan looks brilliant. we're being spoiled with the specials this year. and are we getting an extra special to make up for cloak and dagger being delayed from last year?

Deadpool said...

Yes to the Beetle in his later Armour.
Ronan is a nice sculpt but this is the way THOR should have looked.

The Norse Gods are the true gods of Europe.
Christianity is a sham that adopted all the symbolism and festivals of the North.

Therefore I want the following figures for the collection.
Sif
Heimdal
Freyr
Freya
Idun
Odin on Sleipnir - mega special
Fenris

Thank you for your time.

American Dream is my wife.
In cahoots hardly ever.

Anonymous said...

Odin doesn't need to be a Mega Special. He's not that large. And shouldn't come with the throne. He can easily be done as a special with his spear and a pair of ravens.

Deadpool said...

Not that I derive any pleasure from correcting you Beast ....HA.

I think you will find that Aesir is refering to Odin on his eight legged horse - Sleipnir.

If he was produced on his horse then that would be a MEGA special.

Nice suggestion Aesir.

Anonymous said...

Well, I wouldn't want to see Odin seated on his freak horse either. Standing dynamically with his spear and ravens like the recent statue would be great. Putting him on his weird ass steed would be sorta meh.

Also, standing with his spear is a nice representation of one of the ancient statues of Odin that still exists.

Well all I can say is, "that must have hit a raw nerve Beasty Boy".

Just as well you don't speak for all of us.

Keep up the good work Aesir and Thor ... I like your ideas for Norse types here.

Anonymous said...

Could you please stop trolling?

I never said I spoke for everyone. Nobody on the blog speaks for everyone. But continuing to be a troll or spamming over a simple exchange of ideas is why people in the last blog thread got frustrated with you. Now can we get back to discussing the expansion and not how much attention you need?

Deadpool said...

Beast, get a grip.

The point is that Sleipnir is Odin's noble steed not his throne.

Having yawned through most of your posts, where you masquerade as the main authority on all things Marvel, accept the hole in your knowledge and move on.

Also if you can't say anything informative, nice, funny, ironic or sarcastic then lets just agree ignore each others posts.

Gremlin said...

Sorry but I ain't paying for an Odin mega-special. I will buy him as a normal special but there is no reason to bulk him up with thrones or horses and charge an extorionate amount when there is no need. Having him standing with a spear and his ravens would be perfect. Sorry to be so negative but it's the way me and my wallet feel.

Regardless, this extension means that we can easily get Omega Red, Odin, Ronan, Blob and Sasquatch in with ease and have Sauron and Lockjaw aswell. Plus Northstar and Aurora have got to be in for sure now. Also considering we have had one mega special a year we should still be down for two before the collection "ends" so yay for Mojo amd MODOK. Good times.

Anonymous said...

Sounds good to me Gremlin.

I really do think the Mega Specials should be reserved for characters that can't be done to scale. That's not to say I don't mind a slightly larger Special (say Grodd size) for Sasquatch. But let's keep the Megas for the characters that just can't be done in a realistic scale.

Along with the ones you mentioned, I'd like to see a Grodd Sized Special for The Shadow King (Astral Form) also. He's one of the fairly major X-Badies who haven't been really considered yet. And he's an important baddy with a lot of personal ties.

http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/0/77/191034-13514-shadow-king.jpg

Deadpool said...

Now I remember why I was so reluctant to post anything.

I make a suggestion and you start arguing about it.

Let Eaglemoss decide what they intend to produce.

If you don't like a figure don't buy it.

I buy figures I like.
I like Norse, so I will buy Norse.

Sleipnir is a classic Old Norse character, the son of Loki given to Odin after the wall was built around Asgard.

I will not post here again.

Anonymous said...

Well...

Sleipnir only has appeared in 11 issues according to Comicvine. So apperantly he's not a vital part of Odin's history. So to make Odin that way, seems fairly unnecessary. Apperantly even Marvel seems to think he is, since he's barely appeared. It would be like sculpting Baby Nathan on Cyclops' base... for no reason but to do it.

Quality news! Ronan is ace and really glad The Beetle has made it into the collection... I'm holding on still for news on Onslaught - What an amazing figurine he would be!

bamboozle said...

whilst i am loving this collection, when i originally enquired as to how many there would be i was told 60, now at three times that i am grateful but would like to know if this will end before i die, or will there be continual extensions.

on the flip side of this gripe has anyone thought about classic cover sculpts like fantastic four no 1 etc

bamboozle said...

oh p.s marvel zombies????

as most of you know i have been petitioning for an Odin special for as long as the All Father is old.....and as most of you will know CBR Beast and i dont really see I 2 I. however i do agree with him on a couple of subjects raised,

point #1 although i would accept Odin in any form EM decide to make i would prefer normal special, standing with spear and ravens.

point #2....save the Mega specials for characters that require it (not including size changers)

finnaly DeadPOO, although you are a pain in the arse! please dont consider quitting the blog, now that Robert has vanished you somehow manage to turn the quiet moments into somthing worth logging in for, and the Asgardians need all the support they can get.

and really finnaly...please go with Ronin and save Omega Red for when you get the sculpt just right.

Some ideas:
-A special triple issue! with Asgard Warrior Three
-Some Bad Boys: Dracula, Nefaria,Beyonder,Onslaught,Legion;Morgana,Morg,Terrax...
-Some Good Boys:Mimic,Morph,captain Universe..
-Some Big Boys:Skaar,Eternity,Strange...

Anonymous said...

I can't see a 3-Pack of the Warriors Three selling well. Especially when we've heard that the 2-Packs so far haven't been hot sellers. Sure, some of that is character selection. But when you consider Xavier and Lilandra are fairly prominent X-Characters... it doesn't exactly look good for an even more expensive 3-Pack.

Especially when you consider the size/heft of Volstagg. It's just going to be a problem no matter how you handle it. Splitting them up doesn't really work, since most of their appearances are together. Maybe it has some legs as a tie-in to the Thor movie. But then it means probably getting them and not Odin.

Banshee said...

Another extension....AMAZING!!!
And Beetle is a great choice but please go with the second costume :)

Instead of putting up lists of wants, everyone should predict who will make the next 15, see how many you can guess correctly.

Im gonna guess at....

Beetle (Obviously)
Arachne
Avalanche
Shaman
Magik
Wizard
Moonstone
Deathbird
Gamora
Hydroman
Tigershark
Karnak
Photon
Swordsman
Gargoyle
Mockingbird

happy about beetle , 2nd costume please.

ronan - not too fussed about , but would buy , however i'd prefer omega red.

rich :
extension to 180 is great news but i thought you said we'd get 4 or 5 extentions taking us up to and possibly beyond the 200 issue mark ?
this was mentioned by you in a previous update.
i love this collection and feel that just one more extension to 180 will not be enough ,as there are still lots of worthy characters out there to be included.
we are still in short supply of villains for example.
i think the best way to deal with this is to complete the groups already started.
i'd rather have alpha flight completed for example than end up with 3 or 4 other groups / teams added with only 1 or 2 members to represent them.
spiderman category is the only one that is okay for baddies.
x-men , f/four , avengers , marvel knights need more.
this is without adding the good guys and girls that are still in demand.
so please , please , please - more extensions or produce more multi packs to complete !!
i'm now gonna do a deadpool and post another comment next to this one , only because i have a lot to say.

Since we now have Madrox and Siryn, I really hope another member of X-factor would be made. Monet is a character I adore. But I think Longshot or Wolfsbane would work extremely well. Longshot would not only fit for the X-men category but for X-factor too. And since Spiral is confirmed, its alogical choice. As for Wolfsbane, she as been in so many teams (X-factor 2 and 3, New mutants, Excalibur, X-force 2)

Another part of the marvel universe i'm really fond of, is the cosmic. I think Gamora, Major Victory, Phyla-Vell, Mantis, Star Lord, Rocket Raccoon, Groot...are all very fun character and have an awesome visual.

As for Spidey, my fave spidey villain left is Vermin. But I would be happy with Hydro-man, Jackal, Hammerhead, Kaine, JJJ or Tarentula.

And for Avengers, Mockingbird, arachne and Photon seems like the 3 choices to go. Maybe USAgent too. I have a soft spot for Luke Cage's girl, Jessica Jones

So as you can see, there are still so many characters I want. Oh and Karnak! He has to be in :) I want the inhuman family hehe

Anonymous said...

I would buy two Rocket Raccoons. So I heartily agree with the poster above me that he should be included in the collection. He's one of my favorite Cosmic/GotG characters. I'd love to get Groot in there as well, but I'll settle for Rocket first. :D

LAWay said...

I love the second costume or even thunderbolts beetle, please dont make a figurine of the first appearance! I want figurines that the characters are either best known for, or ones that are up to date with todays comics.

Great news about the extension. My girlfriend always complains about how long the series is going to go and ig I really need every character. lol

Ronin looks ok. Not that familiar with him so I'm not that excited, especially if he is a special (maybe I'll learn something). Omega Red is definitely exciting news though.

Hawkeye said...

My wishes are simple - no long lists:

JJJ
Werewolf By Night
Hammerhead
Tombstone
(the last two as a double-pack?)

Surely you can fit those four in???? Pretty please :)

I know you said that JJJ wouldn't appear before 200 but as that now seems unlikely, he needs to be in before some of the, with all due respect, minor and less interesting characters that others have referred to simply due to his overall impact on the Marvel universe. I don't advocate Aunt May or MJ or any of the other civvies (if the collection were to continue ad nauseum then fair play, put them in) but JJJ has a case for inclusion ahead of many others listed on here, especially now that it looks as if the collection is drawing to a close...

Come on bloggers, the Bugle's finest needs our support!!!!

the list is endless , that is why we need more extensions !!

Anonymous said...

p.s :

j jonah jameson is so deserving of a place , i support him highly and he was on eaglemoss's original list which came with issue 1.
also missing from that list from issue 1 are owl , jackal and aunt may.
these characters should all be included so that we at least get the line up from the original planned schedule.

if we can't get j j jameson into a main slot perhaps we could get him with aunt may and possibly even mary j watson as a multi pack ?

Anonymous said...

"I know you said that JJJ wouldn't appear before 200 but as that now seems unlikely"

Where are you getting unlikely from?

Just cause Rich said 'end', doesn't mean it's going to end anytime soon. He's always been hesitant to suggest it'll continue. But Marvel and Eaglemoss must be pretty happy with Sales still, considering they were originally going to stop at 60. And the last extension was by 40, they just only announced 20 at first while they worked things out. I think we'll most assuredly see 200. If not way more on top of that.

Hawkeye said...

Beast - as Rich put 'end' in commas I can only hope you're right...

(JJJ still needs to be asap 'though..)

I think the whole reason the "end" was put on commas was to signify that more extensions could follow

Here is a list of some characters I wouldnt mind seeing. (I dunno if some are WIP, or I may even have some. I got every figurine in the collection, but theres been so many I have forgotten.) :P

160-Arachne
161-Citizen V
162-Cloak & Dagger
163-Constrictor
164-Dreadknight
165-Kaine
166-Lyja the Laserfist
167-Mach-4
168-Paladin
169-Patriot
170-Penance
171-Prowler
172-Red Guardian
173-Scarlet Spiderman
174-Speedball
175-Speed Demon
176-Stingray
177-Swordsman
178-Tarantula
179-Toxin
180-US Agent

Of course there are many more I would love to see, and I would really love to see alternate universe figures from Age of Apocolypse, House of M, What If? etc.
And like I said before, I would prefer some sort of diorama, even if its just 2 normal sized figures as a special rather than a large huge character that I dont care much about. Like Cloak & Dagger could be a special, and other pairings etc.

I would love to see a multipack of JJJ, Mary Jane, Aunt May in a special with 3 figurines on a base or whatever.

I wouldnt want any of these separately though, I want cool looking figurines. ^_^

sergiogf said...

Maybe I'm wrong but you (all of you) really think that a JJJ or a Mary Jane Watson figurines wil not sell well? I vote for them.

And of course we need more x-men villains (Sauron, Selene, DeathBird, Silver Samurai) and more new mutants (Magik, Mirage, Magma, Wolfsbane), please¡

Good news about the extension¡ Thanks¡

Rich, please me old mucker please make the Beetle in his original Ditko guise.
There are folks on forums saying they don't know who the BeEtle is or i don't like him but i would like to see him in his modern outfit?? why the heck should there opinion matter?.
I ain't to proud to beg or even tug at you heartstrings Rich . I have been a subscriber since day one ( I'll send you my code number to prove it :)
I have bought every fig even the ones i frankly hated like the Chameleon he should have been done in the classic Ditko style in his smoking jacket, goggles raised to show his eyes holding a spidey mask instead we get his modern version which looks like a 5 yr olds description of a " grey" alien.
So that's 120 regular figs plus specials , plinths and binders that must be near £2000 by now ( or $1 million in colonial money :)
So please Rich i'm begging give me the original Beetle . it's not going to bring the collection to an end if you go against the wishes of people who actually don't even know who the hell the character is??
I am not for one second suggesting that to be the case for all , some people genuinley prefer the more modern look,
But c'mon lets live a little . How about a fig that stands out from the usual steroid abusing norm?

Sorry Ted...

I want Beetle. Not Edward Suckerhands.

The original costume isn't iconic or memorable. In fact, it only lasted a few appearances before the new version was introduced. The 2nd look dates back at least to the mid 80's, if not earlier. I can't find an exact date. The 2nd armor is the most recognizable version and would fit in better with the rest of the collection. It's also the only version that ever shows up on merchandise.

Anonymous said...

Yep. Beetle's original costume was destroyed by Iron Man in 1979. So up until he took the Mach I identity he was using the 2nd more recognizable costume. The same one that still shows up in cartoons and merchandise.

Thor8 said...

Aesir: I hope that even though you said you would not post here again you at least keep reading this blog! Don't let anyone's opinion on your suggestions get you down. If you've been reading these posts for awhile you must have noticed that we all get into arguments once in awhile but once the dust settles down we're all fellow collectors and comrades. Besides I'd hate to see a fellow asgardian part our company.

Beetle suit issue: I'll be happy with either one although I must admit that the 2nd arour seems to do him more justice.(sorry Ted)

As for the always resurrecting topic of JJJ,I believe that the best way to solve this delima and keep both parties happy is by adding JJJ along side of one of the Spider Slayers he used to hassle Spidey. It could be done as a special two pack, JJJ controls in hand along side of the SS or a regular figurine of the SS with JJJ's mug on it;s head screen. I know some will not agree but I find it's the best way to give JJJ's fans what they want and the con civvies fans will get another spidey foe who's not wearing a tie!

Anonymous said...

Excellent comments and suggestions, Thor8. While we may not always agree on everything, it's important to remember that everyone's opinion has value. And that when the collect finally does wrap up (hopefully not for a while), we've helped make it one of the most diverse representations of the Marvel Universe to date.

SinisterVenom said...

Great news about Beetle! I know him to wear the 2nd costume so go with that please Rich because the 1st one just looks weird.

A little disappointed about the extra wait for Omega Red but as long as he makes it into the collection I'm really not fussed. Ronan looks great too by the way!
And if you're really thinking about the possibilities of ending the collection soon, at least go for 200, would be a waste not to at this stage.

James I too am waiting on news of Onslaught, he would make an amazing figurine and certainly made himself known in the Marvel Universe in the short time he was around.

Finally some characters I'd like to see in the extension:
Avalanche
Longshot
Forge
Silver Samurai
Hydro-Man
Hammerhead
Owl
Tigershark
Crossbones
And I think the idea of JJJ being put in is a good one, but maybe as issue 200? He's certainly no ordinary civilian.

Deadpool said...

Hmmm... kind words from Pirate Adam.
I wonder if he has his eye on my Booty.

Certain bloggers... particularly the ones that smell like a wet dog that has been rolling in a compost heap ... don't seem to have a clear idea of what they want.

They want authenticity, nostalgia and providence in one post then modernism in the next.

Ted, I agree with you whole heartedly regarding the Beetle.
If the Beetle is in, then make him the Grey Alien type.
He would stand out from the rest of the collection.

As for making the collection "the most diverse representations of the Marvel Universe to date".
There is nothing wrong with diversity, however as a subscriber, I want figures that look good in my display cabinet.

If indeed diversity is the objective, then by the very definition, this must include minor characters that don't have that many appearances.

On the subject of multi-packs.
As a subscriber I accept the multi packs as a matter of course.
The popularity of multipacks depends entirely upon the character line up.
Our resident hound of the basketvilles may disagree, but I give multi packs the the Deadpool "Thumbs Up".

To appease the baying blogg hounds, this would be a great area for the Moss Men to allow the blogger community to select the multi pack figure line up.

For example - who could turn down the "Twins" or "Sasq and Puck" or the "Warriors Three" or even "Hela and Fenris - Loki's children".

Great News :-)

Thanks for the info, Ronan is looking good (even though am also an Omega Red fan... hope he still gets done!) :-D

Beetle definitely a good an worthy first choice for the next extension!

There are lots of lists I could make at the moment, but SEB SHAW and SELENE are two x-villains that I would love to see!

Anonymous said...

Sebastian Shaw and Selene would be great foxchilde. I'm hoping Selene at least makes it in. Necrosha has made her a major player again. And it also filled in some details about her origins. So seems like a good idea to strike why the iron is hot.

Deadpool said...

Basketville ... I didn't think we agreed on anything.

Isn't this a little like the pot calling the kettle black?

For you to make the assumption that I am not ignoring your posts... you too must be reading mine.

That is rather funny don't you think.

But as the saying goes "Don't feed the trolls".

Unfortunately I must have left some tasty morsels for you judging by the amount of SPAM that you have manufactured recently.

Anyway, I am sure that you are well fed now .. remember not to get caught out in the sun otherwise you will turn to stone.

Classic Beetle outfit gets my vote too.

mighty_marvel said...

if jjj were to be done with a spider slayer i'd want them seperate, not just jjj's face on the screen

Deadpool said...

Basketville ... language is a colourful medium with which to express ourselves.

Don't get too distressed by my posts.

Most people have already realised that I am only pulling your leg.

The odd "off the wall comment" - take Jabba as an example - gives you an incentive to check out the blogg every day.. even if only for a minute or two.

If you end up with a giggle, a frown or a frustrated sigh then it is all worthwhile.

Posts encourage conversation, the exchange of ideas and fleeting friendships, is that such a bad thing?

So cheer up, wolf down your pedigree chum and chase your tail for a few minutes to get rid of all that bottled up energy.

Then let's talk about Marvel Figurines ... is that a deal?

JJJ won't come with a cigar no matter what. Marvel has a strict No Smoking policy in place for it's comics and merchandise.

Deadpool said...

On a serious note.

How important is the magazine to the collection?

I know recently there has been a lot of emphasis on "enough material to fill the magazine".
However, should a short history or rare appearance exclude figures from the collection that look good?

Take the origninal Captain Britain costume, that would have been a much better choice for the figure than the Vindicator look alike.

Anonymous said...

Eaglemoss would probably not be able to make the figurines without the associated magazine. Since then they would fall under toys & collectibles rather than what they fall under now. And then the fact that they're made of Lead would cause problems in a number of the markets. Plus the fact that it's the magazine aspect that distinguishes them from the Statues and Toys, which have licenses with Bowen, Sideshow, and Hasbro. Take away the magazines, and that could cause problems with those other rights holders.

mighty_marvel said...

diamond select has done a bust of jjj with cigar in mouth

Deadpool said...

I am not suggesting that the magazine is discarded.

For diverse figures from the fringes of the marvel universe that cannot fill a magazine, the magazine could be either shorter or contain other interesting facts and timelines.

The point I am making is that the criteria for figure collection should not be based solely on "enough material to fill a magazine".

PS Does this mean we are speaking again?
:P

Deadpool said...

If JJJ is in the collection MM, then your suggestion is definately the best idea.

That is precisely the way I see him too.

Great news about the extension again! so quickly after the last one. I like the idea of the fans getting to select maybe 4 this time on the SHFF and then having a comp for the last one.

I hope to see the following 3 characters and I will be a very happy man!

MIRAGE (DANIELLE MOONSTAR)
LONGSHOT
FORGE

Anonymous said...

wowowowowowowowowow RONAN!!!!! YAHOOOOO!!!!!!!
sorry for that nerdospaz...lol. only complaint is - give him his cloak. nothing more :)

well, for my part i think the good-news-extension should round up all the existing teams if its gonna be the final one and not create new ones. e.g.

Karnak, Maximus, Lockjaw (Inhumans)
Moonstone, Atlas, Mach-2/1, Techno (Thunderbolts)
Sasquatch, Puck, Marrina, Shaman, Northstar & Aurora (Alpha Flight)
Sage, Nocturne, Meggan (Excalibur)
Captain Universe, Ronan, Starlord, Firelord, Air-Walker, Rocket Racoon (main Cosmic)
Longshot, Monet, Richter, Strong Guy, Darwin (X-Factor)
Wizard, Paste Pot Pete (or whatshisname), Red Ghost (Frightful Four)
Werewolf By Night (Legion of Monsters - add Brother Voodoo and Jeniffer Kale to complete main supernaturals)
Sunspot, Mirage, Wolfsbane, Magik, Warlock, Cypher, Karma (New Mutants)
Thunderbird (Uncanny X-Men)
Forge (80's x-men)
Sif, Warriors Three (Asgardians)
Hades, Zeus, Athena (principal Olympians)
Misty Knight, White Tiger, Coleen Wing (Heroes For Hire)
Owl (DD villains)
Kaine, Jackal, Hydroman, Hammerhead, Tombstone, Silvermane (classic Spidey villains)

How about (I hope I m saying it for the last time) someone from a different rogues' gallery like Black Panther's (Man-Ape, Gray Wolf, Killmonger), Moon Knight's (Black Spectre, Bushman, Midnight), Ghost Rider (Vengeance, Orb, Blackout), Punisher (Jigsaw, Ma Gnucci, Russian)

A serious suggestion: -

Let's play a little game to create a list for the extended collection.

Each blogger choose a single figure for the collection.
Using the following rules: -

1. Choose only a single figure that you want in the collection.
2. The figure must be a normal slot figure
3. Specify the costume and pose.
4. Do not duplicate a figure chosen by another blogger
5. Do not criticise another bloggers choice.

There is nothing that focusses the mind than a single important decision.

This will produce a definitive list of blogger favorites for Moss Men consideration.

Deadpool said...

I'll get things going: -

Darkchylde - posed and dressed exactly like the cover of X-Infernus #1.

Me, you and Hawk ... the Warriors 3.

So what's your figure choice then?

LAWay said...

I think you gotta have the magazine. Some of the characters I dont know much about, so its a good history lesson. I have been a subscriber from the very beginning too, and I love reading up on each character. I was disappointed that the section was dropped about the value of the first appearance of the character, I found that really interesting too.

I have been disappointed that more recent figurines haven't filled nearly as many pages, with the magazines feeling a little cheaper also. I know there may not be enough information to fill out a spiderman size magazine, but I dont see why pages should be cut back, it devalues what we subscribed to at the beginning.

I dont mind the lesser characters. If there isn't enough pages to fill, what about inserting some actual comic pages to fill the numbers, or some concept art by the comic artists, for merchandise, games, for the figurine scuplt, the modelling and painting process etc.

I loved the first spidey issue that came with the pictures of a WIP Doc Ock. I would love to see a double page spread of 'Making of the figure'.

As an artist myself, I would find this immensely interesting and rewarding. What about it?

surprise surprise if i could get one figure in it would be JJJ.

bugle in one hand, spidey mask in the other, cigar and looking like he's yelling 'parker'

(looked into it and cigar should be ok as the ban is on showing smoking in a favourable light. as a sometime villain and a character not liked by the other characters his smoking is not in a favourable light and should be ok. but if not i could live without the cigar)

Deadpool said...

LAWay.

I suggested a figure production guide earlier as an update to the web site.

Adding that to the magazine is also a good idea too.

I have always supported Magik in the line-up. She's a great character. And would look just perfect hat with the one armored arm and the soul sword.

As for my pick.... as I already posted on the blog. My #1 out of Top 2 Wants is this guy...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v97/MasterSplinter/DarkBeast2.jpg

I'd have him more or less in that exact pose. But get rid of the ragged remains of whatever else he was wearing. Just the metal shorts.

One of the X-Baddies with the most impact on the Marvel Universe. From supplying Emma Frost with the tech that allowed her reign as White Queen of the Hellfire Club. To creating/founding the Morlocks, which led to their slaughter by the Marauders under Mister Sinister's orders. And now currenly a member of Norman Osborn's Dark X-Men. He's a nice match-up for not only the 616 Hank but also last extension's X-Man.

was wondering which asgardian PA would go for

Gremlin said...

In my mind there are two main Asgardians at the top of the pile at the moment and they are Sif and Hela. There are of course other characters kicking around like the Warriors Three, Heimdell and Hrmirhahrhaha (the wolf guy in X-force) but the two women are top in their category.
Sif is the classic Thor ally who herself has recieved lots of attention over the years and has a oneshot coming out soon infact.
Hela is her polar opposite being the devious and evil antagonist to Thor and the rest of the MU. Infact I never read much of Hela before but all of a sudden she is all over the XMen books, striking a deal with the Wolf Prince in X-Force and striking a deal with Dani Moonstar from the New Mutants.

Personally I would go with Hela because visually she is rather impressive but I wouldn't be surprised if either one got through.

Gremlin said...

Oh yeah and if you want MY character to add to a list its got to be Deathbird. What can I say I like my psycho-biatches. I managed to convince the entire forum that they NEEDED Spiral in the collection and I aim to do the same with Deathbird.
Spiral for me was my personal fan favourite and it was always going to be a slightly polarising choice. But Deathbird shouldn't be as controversial. She is a "classic" character originating in the 70's from Ms Marvels comic of all places. But now she is equal parts cosmic character and XMen villain. The past few years have really put her into the forefront and I really hope Rich puts her in the collection. Visually she is stunning with her purple feathers and she is an integreal part of the cosmic landscape.

mighty_marvel said...

would be happy with sif or hela but hela is verging on special status which odin is obviously going to be the asgardian of choice for. so i imagine we'll get sif who also would look amazing in red/white costume, winged style head-dress and sword in each hand at the ready

Joeking said...

Please note, that although Magik and darkchylde are the same person, i would prefer Magik.

Anonymous said...

Same here Joeking...

Magik is a better representation of who the character is at her core. The Darkchylde thing is Illyana without her soul. She doesn't really fit in with the rest of the X-Men if you have her like that. So I wholeheartedly support Magik, and would be disappointed if they went with her less iconic Darkchylde look. It would have been like if they had Baby Nathan represented on the base instead of Cable.

why are so many thinking the collection is finishing at #180. rich put end in his post in inverted commas - 'end' - meaning that this is the last figure of the 180 until a further extension is confirmed. which there surely will be as long as sales remain strong.

remember that this extension takes us to the middle of 2012. leaving plenty of time for a 181 - 200, maybe even 220 extension to be given the go ahead. we just have to do our part and keep buying these great little figs. because as long as EM are making money they will keep the collection going

Don't forget my choice for Avalanche, Mad Thinker. I posted it last night at some point.
And I've had trouble getting on SHFF too, maybe updating the site?

Holy Wolf said...

Yeah SHFF seems to be down, haven't heard anything from the other mods or admins so I'm gonna assume it's to do with the folk who host the site probs updating their servers or something.

1.Darkchylde
2.JJJ with cigar, spidey mask an rolled up Bugle.
3 Dark Beast
4 Constrictor posed similar to the Bowen design, just with legs
5 Ulysses Bloodstone
6 Hela in her cloak and standing pose
7 Spitfire in her MI:13 costume
8. Deathbird
9. Shanna the she devil bikini costume , holding a spear ready to attack
10. Avalanche
11. Meggan

Cool game, Deadpool. I had a real hard time choosing one character. (It was easier for Siryn, since she was my number one fave) Karnak is probably my most wanted left, to complete the inhuman but I assume he'll get in without my help. I also really want Gamora, Longshot, Monet and Wolfsbane. With the inclusion of Siryn, I must admit that adding another Peter David's X-factor is a must for me. Especially Monet cause I like her so much. But I went with Meggan. Excalibur was one of my fave book, and with the inclusion of Rachel Summers, she's the only left to complete the original line-up. I would prefer completing X-factor, but with Excalibur, there's only one character left. I know she's the least popular of them all, but surely Captain Britain's wife can fit in somehow. Her look is really cute. I always liked how everything seemed so simple to her.

My choice for Deadpools game is Mirage (aka Moonstar)

We got Cannonball last time and there needs to be another New mutant this extension.

Mirage has over 400 appearances in comics and she has links not only to the New mutants/X-men but to Asgard as well.

MWB87 said...

My pick would be Wolfsbane (in her Transitional form). Shes had over 500 appearances, great look and has been a member of a number of teams over the years.

Yeah, seems like a router or something out leading to the SHFF forums. Cause I can get to the main page, and even the forums portal last night. But can't seem to get any further. Hopefully it's fixed soon, I need to post my second campaign post. :D

Joeking said...

Glad it's not just me. Thanks for the support by the way.

wel looks like the females are dominating this one !!

score =

female characters 8
male characters 5

deadpool's game needs 7 more characters so keep your suggestions coming folks.
i take it that it's a first come first served basis deadpool ?
so get in quick people as this is based on an extension of 20 characters and we already have 13 candidates.

7 spots left and personally i think they should all be reserved for male characters , but we'll just have to wait and see what people go for eh ?

max_0888 said...

lol, already 7 x-characters. And five out of them female. That'll never happen, haha. Still, its fun

Gremlin said...

TheGrimReaper has said that the server which hosts superherofigurineforum.com is being updated and it has kocked the website out for a while....so watch this space.

Thats a fair few X-females down there but to be fair they are all awesome and have hundreds of issues to each of their names.

Anonymous said...

Well, we had 6 last time. So while unlikely, somewhat possible. Plus the X-Books do have the most number of fairly major characters still not in the collection. So we'll see what happens when all is said and done.

Last time:

Destiny
Marvel Girl
Cannonball
Spiral
Toad
Siryn

Anonymous said...

It appears we can count Hydro-Man as a lock for the extension as well. Like Destiny in the previous one, Rich said recently he was a guaranteed lock for the next extension.

Anonymous said...

come on people , where are your votes i'm interested to see people's choices and there are 7 slots left to fill in deadpool's game.

will there be anymore x characters ?
will there be anymore females ?

stay tuned folks and don't forget to enter your character to this list of 20.

Anonymous said...

the list so far :

1.Darkchylde
2.JJJ with cigar, spidey mask an rolled up Bugle.
3 Dark Beast
4 Constrictor posed similar to the Bowen design, just with legs
5 Ulysses Bloodstone
6 Hela in her cloak and standing pose
7 Spitfire in her MI:13 costume
8. Deathbird
9. Shanna the she devil bikini costume , holding a spear ready to attack
10. Avalanche
11. Meggan
12. Mirage (aka Moonstar)
13. Wolfsbane

keep 'em coming , 7 left , please add your vote , i for one want to see what the completed list would look like and would it be good enough to deserve inclusion by eaglemoss ?

vote now , who's your favourite or who do you want in this collection if you only had one choice ?

mighty_marvel said...

i'd be amazed if tigershark wasn't a certainty too

mighty_marvel said...

and forge, photon and karnak

Anonymous said...

I'm not so sure on Tiger Shark. He seemed like a sure thing since his near win two extensions ago in the polls. But he got passed over twice. Of course, that probably does mean he'll be in this time. We'll see.

Gremlin said...

Tiger Shark, Photon, Forge, Hydroman and Karnak are near certainties at this point. They are pretty much the top characters in their respective categories. I also think Vance Astro, Magik and Wizard are in with a strong chance. Personally it would also be nice to get Constrictor, White Tiger and Gamora.

Anonymous said...

Gargoyle would be nice also. Finishes off the last major member of the Defenders team.

Hi PAdam sorry cant really partisipate as I'm in and out of the country at the moment with the new job and thought I would dip my toe in the water, so to speak.

Can't see any posts from Robert the Bruce - is it a holiday period north of the border?

Also how is Bor coming along tried to connect to the SHFF and it keeps crashing.

think we'll probably get 4 x-characters and for sake of balance it'll be 2 heroes, 2 villains. forge will definitely be male hero slot, with either domino or magik. and whoever doesn't make it of those 2 will probably be in next time along with longshot. villains wise i'm thinking it'll be silver samurai getting the nod because he'd look amazing and selene due to her recent exposure in the comics.

agree with you about vance astro making it gremlin. cosmics are getting a lot of support over on the forum and they are due a bit of representation. no better way than a member of both incarnations of the GOTG. would like to see gamora too but she may be held over for 181 - 200.
oh, and starhawk. how good would he look in modern costume.

even if rich doesn't include tigershark in i can't see a forum poll not putting him through again

Holy Wolf said...

In terms of fmeale x-characters I'm betting Magik definitely gets in, and Domino will also get in ahead of another X female

Anonymous said...

Sage over Domino, please.

She has a longer history, and it would be nice to finally get her. In her X-Treme X-Men costume of course.

oh well deadpool , don't seem that anymore bloggers want to join in with your game.

shame cos we only needed 7 more candidates.

they have changed the subject now.

Thor8 said...

My choice for Deadpool's list would be The original Swordsman, pose similar to the way he appeared for the 1st time on the cover of Avengers #19.

I believe the following are strong certainties for this extension:

Tiger Shark
Stingray
Forge
Karnak
Photon
Sif
Whirlwind
Avalanche(not too sure of this one)

I'd like to see;
Starfox-USAgent-Firebird-White Tiger-Hyperion-Dr.Spectrum-Thunderbird-Mastermind-Attuma-Graviton-Count Nefaria-The Collector-Tarantula and The Warriors Three.

LAWay said...

Maybe if no one else is taking part in the game, those who have should have a second guess. ;)

How many specials do you think there will be until the end of the extension? That could be the next game.

I feel bad linking this, but I have just finished drawing an A-Z of Marvel Females at my blog, so if anyone wants to check it out, I'd appreciate it. http://lawaycartoons.blogspot.com/

Yay self promotion. lol

Continue with the game. And not including this as a guess, but you reckon we will see Whiplash some point because of Iron Man 2, and do you think he will be a special, or regular because of his size? I wouldnt mind having a movie edition version.

Hi Everybody!!
Long time Blog Reader- First time Blog writer here. before I join in deadpool's list, I'd just like to say how entertaining these blogs have been over the last few months!
Anyway....my choice is....Baron Strucker.
He should be in classic Steranko Hydra Leader costume, shaking his Satan Clawed fist at the world!!
hope you like the idea,
cheers for now..

Killer Frost said...

This is a nice idea for a game. My choice is LONGSHOT.

With DAZZLER and SPIRAL now out and confirmed it seems right that he would be next.

Good choice Killer Frost..

And hopefully we'll get Mojo as a Special. :D

sergiogf said...

For the Deadpool's Game... my vote is for Forge, with the Fall of the Mutants appearance¡

And Mojo or Sauron for Special too¡

SinisterVenom said...

Welcome to the blog BobDiamond. Your choice for Baron Strucker reminded me of another Baron we don't have yet: Baron Mordo.
I think he's quite overdue and I think it's about time we had another Dr. Strange enemy, as well as a magic one.
Of course I made my choice for Deadpool's game and I stick with it but still something to consider...

Deadpool said...

Well we have almost hit our target of 20.

1.Darkchylde
2.JJJ with cigar, spidey mask an rolled up Bugle.
3 Dark Beast
4 Constrictor posed similar to the Bowen design, just with legs
5 Ulysses Bloodstone
6 Hela in her cloak and standing pose
7 Spitfire in her MI:13 costume
8. Deathbird
9. Shanna the she devil bikini costume , holding a spear ready to attack
10. Avalanche
11. Meggan
12. Mirage (aka Moonstar)
13. Wolfsbane
14. Swordsman in orginal pose.
15. Baron Stucker in classic Steranko Hydra Leader costume, shaking his Satan Clawed fist at the world!! (cool)
16. Forge, with the Fall of the Mutants appearance¡
17. LONGSHOT.

Only 3 left to hit our target ...keep them coming and take note MossMen the Bloggers have spoken.

Am still here to all my blogger friends....

Just thought i would join in Deadpools game with a suggestion of a herald of Galactus , anyone of them will do to go with the Silver Surfer as there long overdue .

I would chose Nova (frankie raye) as a popular choice but not mine, i would have Morg or The Fallen one . But any Herald will do thanks .

peace to all ..... BARONI ..

I have two suggestions for DP's game:
1. Vengeance: he's Venom to Ghost Rider's Spider-Man, he's got one sweet ride and a wicked grin across his punkish skull. I d have him in this pose: http://www.comicvine.com/vengeance/29-14759/all-images/108-201710/118900-vengeance/105-213157/; since he will not be made on his bike, probably...

2. Mockingbird - long overdue, Hawkeye misses his missus. She's the only remaining member of the first/most important/recurring team of West Coast Avengers and has lately returned as cool as ever! http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/marveldatabase/images/thumb/a/a3/Barbara_Morse_%28Earth-616%29.png/291px-Barbara_Morse_%28Earth-616%29.png or http://www.comicvine.com/mockingbird/29-2497/all-images/108-217693/mb2008/105-597352/ as poses.

i d rather have mockingbird since she's been long overdue so DP, dibs on mockingbird!

Bagman said...

O.K. , my choice for Deadpools game would be YONDU from the original Guardians of the Galaxy.
I think the cosmics need a few more characters in this collection.

Thor8 said...

Welcome to the fold BobDiamond, and welcome back Baroni_8,it's been awhile. So we have a new blog writer, the return of an old blog writer, and the dissapearance of a blog writer. Where is Robert?

Oh and Deadpool it's "THE" original Swordsman not The Swordsman in original pose. For the pose I proposed it should be similar to the one on the cover of Avengers #19. (His 1st appearance)

Deadpool said...

16. Forge, with the Fall of the Mutants appearance¡
17. LONGSHOT.
18. Nova (frankie raye)
19. Mockingbird
20. YONDU

Ta Da........

There we have it the Bloggers choice for favorite figurines.
This should give Richy and the Mossmen some food for thought for announced or future extensions to the collection.

Now let's formulate our list of specials as suggested by LAW.

My first choice would be, drum roll please.....:-

1.Hela ....

Miguel Angel Jiminez said...

Well i was struggling to decide between Mangog, Ulik and the Asgardian Destroyer. But as Hela has got the Norse Nomination.
I will go for the super Adaptoid classic Avengers villain in his original " green" look.

Anonymous said...

Specials? Wow, now that's a toughie.

There's so many to choose from, but many of my wants are likely locks at some point. So I'll go with...

Mojo.

pirate adam said...

DeadPOO! you cant have Hela in the specials list because i picked her in the 20 regulars, so you can have another pick.

i think for a special i will pick

Surtur

haha another Asgardian, who would have guessed :)

mighty_marvel said...

madame web for me. although realistically i don't expect to see her for a while

SinisterVenom said...

I stick with the special I've wanted for quite a while now and my choice is Onslaught.

BobDiamond said...

Specials...Hmmm. This might not count exactly, but I would love a shared- base Double Pack of The Original Human Torch and Toro. They could be made in a much more 'fiery' way than Johnny Storm (if anyone out there remembers the FF Annual from the 60's where the Golden age Torch meets the FF one, then you can see that they can be depicted quite differently from a modelling point of view). The original HT is after all, the hero on the cover of the first Marvel (Timely) mag-'Marvel Comics' no.1 1939, and therefore should be in this collection smewhere i believe...anyway, what do you guys think...

pirate adam said...

i would like to see Onslaught also

max_0888 said...

My most wanted special would be Strong guy! Gotta love that dude! hehe. Plus only him and Wolfsbane to complete Havok's X-factor team.

specials? since ronan is (i hope) confirmed, i d go for Lockjaw, unless vengeance would be a special because of his bulk.

Anonymous said...

"My most wanted special would be Strong guy! Gotta love that dude! hehe. Plus only him and Wolfsbane to complete Havok's X-factor team."

And Monet, Longshot, Rictor, Shatterstar, and Layla Miller.

Hawkeye said...

I'd support Crowrider's vote for the Inhumans mega pooch, Lockjaw as a special. Nice doggie.....

Xie Shi Hua said...

Original classic beetle costume please, and double check the scale, please. DC's Blue Beetle is HUGE!

max_0888 said...

lol, CBR Beast, I know about Monet, Longhost, Rictor...I was talking about Havok's team (Havok, Polaris, Quicksilver, Madrox, Strong guy and Wolfsbane) back when Peter David first wrote the x-factor team.

Bagman said...

Since RONAN is already on his way, for a special i'd go for MAN-APE (with spear and shield).

LAWay said...

So many specials, so little time.

I am going with Man-Spider. Since I suggested it, I cant get it out of my head how cool it would be.

He has appeared in comics a few times, with the magazine also concentrating on all the weird different spider-man versions, possibly pages from the comics, concept sketches and WIP of the sculpt....done. I will hand over the money right now folks. Make this figure!!! lol

Joeking said...

If we are talking specials Self friends,

WARLOCK

Joeking said...

Of the other specials that have been mentioned here, I think STRONG GUY And LOCKJAW would get my vote if needed

Thor8 said...

Since Many of my choices have already been nominated by others (which is a good thing meaning I'm not the only one wanting them)I'll cast nomination to The Destroyer(a la Odin). Had also thought of Mangog but just like Sasquatch I believe that due to his size he would have to be a "special" special in the Gorilla Godd category.
