And so the winner of the competition chosen at random is Maxime Gariépy from Montréal Québec, Canada..
Congratulations, the character chosen was Siryn.
I'll be in contact with the winner come the New Year to discuss costume/pose etc...
For those not familiar with the character here's a pick below.
That's it for today, everyone have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Congratulations and well done and a good character picked as well, so I'm happy.
Congratulations to Max, and great choice of character! :D
Wonderful character choice :D
I hope that she is done in her more recent green X-Factor costume.
bah, i never win anything. love x-men so pleased it was an x character but do feel siryn may have squeezed in before 200 anyway.
hopefully for the next extension rich can be convinced that JJJ is indeed a villain rather than a civilian so the 2 spiderman slots go to hydro-man and JJJ.
although whether you class him as a villain or civilian, imho there is nobody more deserving to be cast in lead than JJJ in the spiderman family any more. but we'll probably end up with jackal
Congratulation, Max.
Merry Christmas to everyone :)
not happy
Thought you wouldnt be slapstick!haha;)
Congrats to the winner,Siryn is a good choice.
Awesome. Congratulations max.
I dont think we would have seen Siryn for a long time so I am pleased with the pic. I am looking over her costume choices and trying to decide which I like more. Although her green and yellow Banshee-like costume is better known I do like her more recent X-Factor look.
Bring on the next extension!!!!!!!!
C'mon Slapstick tis the season to be jolly:) What was your pick?
If people are not happy with the choices thats their decision really. We all knew this competition would polarise the fans regardless of who won. At the end of the day this is one persons personal want and so it obviously won't be to everyones cup of tea. As long as Max doesn't get flamed for his choice then there is no harm in being upset by it.
I am just looking ahead to the next extension now and mulling over all the wonderful characters that can go in it such as Tigershark, Photon, Hydroman, Wizard, Karnak, Forge and Hela.
Wouldn't object to any of your choices Gremlin , What scares me is how quickly i can rattle off 20 figs i would love to see in the next extension. Only to realise i've left out 50 more i'd love to see too
Nice choice. It's a shame they didn't do Banshee in the blue version of his classic costume. It would have allowed Siryn to stand out more in the green version. Hopefully that's the costume that we end up getting. Really don't care to see her done in her X-Factor Civvies. Snoresville.
I can think of a lot of Spider-Man villains/rogues I'd rather see before we get around to a civilian like JJJ.
Top 10 off the top of my head.
Hydro-Man
The Spot
The Gibbon
Grizzly
Kangaroo
Tombstone
Hammerhead
Puma
Swarm
The Jackal
We have the Enforcers also, but they fall into the same problem as JJJ. They just look too much like your standard civilians.
Congratulations, Maxime! I bet that this will make your Christmas that wee bit more memorable. Hopefully, it won't seem too long before you actually see your figure sitting proudly on your shelf!
I have to admit that I have no idea who Siryn is but I'm sure loads of people would have the same blank reaction to my choice, so hey ho. As they say in North America, sometimes you get the bear, sometimes the bear gets you.
Happy Christmas, everyone.
JJJ is a classic character. he has his own unique look and you could not mistake him for a 'standard civilian'.
and anyway he isn't just a 'standard civilian'. he doesn't just sit in the background of comics not doing anything. he has done more to bring spiderman down than most of the costumed clowns you have mentioned cbrbeast. surely that elevates him out of the 'standard civilian' bracket.
not to mention he has made over 1300 appearances so can actually fill a magazine unlike half of your list who have under 50 appearances so would struggle to fill one.
As i mentioned earlier , i don't particularly want to see civvies included BUT there are always exceptions and JJJ is certainly that. As MM said he has done more to bring down Spidey than all those B- list muppets like gibbon, Kangaroo and Grizzly put together.
Plus didn't ol JJ finance the creation of The Scorpion?
Seasons greetings to all of you, and may peace and understanding last till new year
wow a female banshee , what variety
Have to add my support to calls for JJJ to eventually - stress, eventually - appear in the collection.
As Ted said, he financed the Scorpion but he has done a lot more, of course. Wasn't the first meeting of Spidey and Luke Cage because JJJ hired the latter to capture Web-head? He also financed Spencer Smythe's Spider-Slayers, at least one of which old Jonah was inside. (In fact, didn't Jonah meet his future wife because of his plots to catch Spidey?) JJ has been at the centre of so many storylines. I can think of lots of examples, like the time Spidey and the Punisher teamed-up to rescue JJ from a failed assassination attempt by the Hitman. The list goes on and on.
It would be easy to edit out the appearances of many characters from Spider-Man's history. How many issues has, say, The Grizzly appeared in? (I like the Grizzly, by the way.) To edit out JJ would be near impossible.
hope they choose a siryn costume that doesn't clash then
spread the love for j jonah jameson
oh to answer your question ted sallis
my choice was constrictor.
not top of my lists but had to take into account number of appearances and art work etc to fill a magazine.
Slapstick, can you at least pretend to have some good grace and congratulate Maxime? I nearly made comment after your last post and somehow resisted the urge, but your second grumble was too much.
What is wrong with you? Are you miffed that you didn't win? If so, you are behaving like a child. Don't enter a competition if you can't abide by a result you may not like.
If you are in the huff because you disagree with the choice, then get over it. You have mentioned some real howlers in your time. In fact, you have enumerated so many characters in your scattershot lists, Maxime deserves some sort of additional prize for managing to think of one you haven't mentioned!
This competition has been a great one and we've been very, very lucky to have the opportunity to personally pick one of the figurines to be included. Maxime was the lucky entrant and everyone else who posts here congratulates her. You should do the same, you ingracious lump.
Well said, Robert.
Am I disappointed that I didn't win? Sure. But I'm happy to see that someone's most wanted character got in. Plus it's another X-Character and another female especially. Nice to see more chicks make it into the collection. Besides, I have a good feeling my pick will make it in eventually. He did well in one of the previous polls. :)
congrats to the winner, not an X-Men fan personaly so i suppose one X-Character is as good as another, but well done anyway and i cant moan as i didn't even bother to enter.
so who was everybody going to choose if they won? if i entered and won i was always going to pick an Asgardian, HELA or SIF if rich deemed Hela to large to be a regular.
PEACE
Pirate Adam
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!
I feel like the luckiest guy on the planet!!!! I really can't believe I actually won something.
Siryn has been my fave marvel character since I was a kid, and she never was made in any figurine collection!!
I know people will think its too bad another x-character has been chosen, but I would have regret this all my life, if I won and would have gone with somebody else than Siryn
I'm in shock!! Haha, this is the best Christmas ever.
I will choose her dark green x-factor look, I think thats how she became a character of her own, and I know that it will make a different figurine than her father. We want diversity in the collection and that's what I will give you (for those who don't like her all that much)
Madrox and Deadpool will have thjeir girl in the collection!!
Great to hear from you, Max! Your post made me grin from ear to ear.
Please don't feel even the tiniest amount of guilt or selfishness. Please, please, pick the costume you prefer and don't try to suit anyone else. It's lovely that you are thinking of others but it's your day and your choice.
I wouldn't normally buy and X-Man character but I think this time I will.
Congrats Max...
As for who I would have chosen, it probably would have been Dark Beast. Since he's played such a huge part in things. Though runner-up choices would have been:
Rocket Raccoon
Sage
Selene
Avalanche
The Gibbon
I really love how many female characters have shown up in this line. I would have chosen Darkstar or Heather Hudson as Vindicator, but well done.
Please do the classic costume.
I defy anyone not to have a big grin on their face after reading Max's post.
Sincere congratulations to you , I think it safe to say you will enjoy a very merry xmas
Apperantly Siryn wore the Blue/Yellow version of the Banshee costume as well. I really would like to see that over her rather boring more civilian look from X-Factor. The last thing the line needs is characters in street clothes. Madrox was bad enough, but at least he had the classic shirt on.
http://www.uncannyxmen.net/db/spotlight/showquestion.asp?faq=10&fldAuto=143&page=7
I support max costume choice, dark green x-factor look would be great!
i'm happy Max is so pleased but the winner was always going to be extatic, i would like to echo Roberts statement and say dont worry about pleasing anybody else when you choose the cozzy and pose just go with what you want.
Merry christmas to all my fellow bloggers
Pirate Adam
:-o
Ok, I'm not officially the winner, but I also picked Siryn as my choice upon entry.... Hooray!! I am really happy for this as I wouldn't have seen her coming for some time otherwise.
Congratulations Max, thats awesome. A 2nd member of X-Factor Investigations :-D
I also want to say a big thank you to Rich and all of the CMFC staff. Its such an amazing opportunity and I feel so lucky to be a part of the process :) Thanks a million time and a merry chirstmas to the whole staff!
I think it would be an amazing thing to do again next extansion so somebody else can benefit the same experience I will be.
And thanks everyone for the kind words, it's nice to know you guys support Siryn even if she's not everyone's fave.
i m not exactly a huge fan of siryn but i m happy for max AND i d have prefered siryn over some character which introduces a new team such as hyperion or spectrum for suqadron supreme (even if i really LOVE the squadron supreme, specially after the JMS revamp and reading Ultimate Power!)or anyone from the new-x-men (again, i really like em) but for completion's sake, at least it was someone from X-Factor. Since we have Madrox, Polaris and Havok who are well-known members of the team, Siryn is a welcome addition.
Me I voted Karnak for completion's sake but honestly I d have preferred Vengeance, Kaine, Captain Universe or Mockingbird too.
Well done max & Happy Christmas to all!

Don't worry Crowrider. I bet Karnak will get in the next extension if the pattern holds up (Gorgon previous, Triton current...).
As for her dark green costume being a civvie look....I just don't see it. So it isn't spandex...but neither is Taskmaster's, Thor's or Dr Doom's. I am glad the dark green look has been chosen as it will help seperate her from looking too much like Banshee.
I am loving some of these choices you guyswent for. Darkstar especially, we pretty much have a Champions line-up now once Crimson Dynamo comes out!!!!
robert you are bang out of order
Happy Christmas, everyone!!!
In an effort to plug the gaps in my collection, Santa visited my house via Kollectibles in Glasgow, so I've just finished reading Avengers (Vol.1) #127. Ah, they don't make 'em like that anymore!
Hope Santa was just as generous to everyone else!
P.S. Ted, you snowed in up in Dundee?
P.P.S. Slapstick, are you having fun with your Lego? How many bricks were in the biggest tower you've made?
what the hell is your problem robert ?
we are all entitled to our opinions on here , yet all you use this site for is to slag me off and treat me like a child , well merry christmas to you too !!
Slapstick you get treated like a child because you act like one, i wasn't happy with Max's choice but he won fair and sqaure and deserves to have whatever fig he wants, you didn't even congratulate him when everyone else did and thats just being bitter, also your choice of Constrictor, erm, words fail me.
Pirate Adam
I don't need to reply, Slapstick, as Pirate Adam's comment was spot on.
However, I would like to add that, at the last count, you have written five posts since the competition result was announced, Slapstick. That's five opportunities to congratulate Max. And STILL you have failed to say a 'well done' or 'congrats'.
I know you have contempt for us "nerds" and that we should get out more instead of reading comics, but that is appalling.
I worked in primary education for ten years and, hand on heart, your self-centred, inconsistent, inarticulate and emotionally immature utterances are honestly typical of a Lower School (P1-2) Primary child. You continually reinforce this impression and that's why I refer to you to a child.
Even after all this, and the gesture being somewhat compromised, it would still be nice if you were to say congratulations to Max. Even if it's through gritted teeth.
Siryn huh, good choice! Congratulations on winning! I had Avalanche as my choice had I won.
I have been reading the posts and I agree with Robert and Pirate Adam, Slapstick is the one who is acting out of order here. I admit I'm disappointed I didn't win but hey, I'm happy for the lucky winner. Have some respect please Slapstick, though I feel even if you said it now it would only be because of what we have all said, not because you meant it.
Also I would like to see JJJ in the collection, he is much more than just a civilian as some see him as, as Robert has pointed out, so fingers croseed.
SinisterVenom, admittedly any congratulaions now would be slightly tarnished. Nevertheless, we have to leave the door open for Slapstick to do the right thing. I'm glad people have agreed with me. Not because I need personal affirmation, but in the hope he'll see that his negative response was unpopular and immature and that he will decide to redeem himself, albeit belatedly.
On the subject of JJJ and civilians in general, we had a few posts on this a month or so ago. If our criteria of inclusion is the number of appearances or importance to a character's history we also need to seriously consider "Thunderbolt" Ross, Rick Jones (Honorary Avenger with lots of history with Hulk, Captain America and two Captain Marvels), Franklin and Valeria Richards, May Parker, MJ and Gwen Stacy. It seems likely that we'll need at least a few more extensions before we start seeing them, though!
Your a vital member of the blog slaptick.
But i can see where what you say,can get reaction off others.
Maybe deliberately?
Remeber i think Pirate Adam was in your situation not long ago. With his comments.
I love the read tho. These pickering has kept this blog interesting.;)
Hope everyone has had a good day.
Merry Christmas to all my fellow bloggers! I just got back home from celebrating a wonderful Christmas Eve and a Christmas day with my family, relatives, friends and church members and wanted to see who the lucky comp winner was. So I wish to add my congrats to Lucky ol'Max. Enjoy your prize mi amigo!
If I'd had won the comp many would have wanted to tar and feather me or boil me in my own pudding, for my choice was The original Swordsman from the Avengers. I need him to complete my Avengers' collection and I find his costume would stand out color wise in this collection.
Seems as though JJJ has become an issue once more on this blog.
One of the reasons I'm a little unsure if JJJ should be included in this collection is seen in my pal Robert's last entry. Once JJJ is accepted, others will want to see Ross,Jarvis,Wong.Aunt May, Rick Jones,Mary Jane ect. added. We already have various heroes in civvies:Prof.X,Maddrox,Punisher, Blade,Mistic,Chameleon, don't really care for anymore right now.
Getting back to OL'JJJ as I mentioned before maybe he could be made as a special Standing along side a Spider Slayer controls in hand.
Last but not least,I really like Max's suggestion of another comp for the next extension. Good one Max!
thank you jimbob , at least someone understands me.
i think robert just has a problem with me as when others say the wrong thing or upset someone with their comments he leaves them alone but seems to always comment on what i say.
i mean no harm at all when i comment on here.
fair enough i could have congratulated the winner , but then don't see that it's a crime not to.
and i am definately not apologising this time , well not to you roberto my nemesis.
if my comments have upset you yourself max please let me know , and i will apologise to you , but not to him.
why should i keep letting robert control me. if he doesn't like my comments he should just ignore them , especially when they don't concern him. don't interfere , if the winner had a problem , they should be the one to tell me , not you.
so i said i'm not happy , so what ?
so every time someone says they're not happy makes them immature does it ?
and showed a little sarcasm with the next comment about a female banshee and variety.
that's why i also said about choosing another costume for her so she wouldn't clash with banshee.
perhaps you need reading glasses robert because i don't see why you are making my comments out to be so bad ?
and to answer your question about lego bricks , i was wondering , could i swap them with your barbie doll set please ?
oh and by the way , you are having a go at me for not liking the competition winners choice of character , then have the audacity to slag me off for my choice.
well says it all really don't it ?
robert love's to get his own way like a spoilt little brat of a child.
ingracious lump ? you are an ungrateful hypocrite !!
thor 8 :
i would have loved to have seen swordsman made , wish you'd have won but congratulations to max anyway , i'm sure you will do us proud with the costume choice and pose etc !!
that come's from me , not because i've been bullied into saying it by roberto !!
sorry Jimbob you know i dont have a problem with you, but i fail to see how Slapsticks situation is the same as mine was.
mine was due to me using a silly word in a joke and getting rounded on (rightfully i some cases), Slapsticks was just plain bitterness in my opinion for not winning the comp and liking the winers choice.
I like having Slapstick contribute to this blog as i get a laugh out of him but i have to agree Robert on this matter.
and to Slapstick, NO hard feelings mate, as far as i'm concerned the matter is now over.
PEACE
Pirate Adam
Another post, another example of petulance and inaccuracies, Slapstick.
Firstly, I never made any comment about your choice of figure. That was Pirate Adam. (I actually don't mind the character.)
Secondly, I never said or even hinted that you need to apologise to me. Or even to Max. I asked that you congratulate him, just as everyone else has done. Maybe if you read more slowly and carefully the big words wouldn't be so confusing?
You also seem to be unaware that others have condemned your sarcasm and lack of congratulation. Go reread Pirate Adam's, CBRBeast's and SinisterVenom's posts.
That's three examples where it seems it is you, and not me, who is in need of reading glasses. Funny and ironic all at once.
While I have occasionally disagreed with folk, I don't criticise anyone else because no one behaves as poorly and immaturely as you. As Pirate Adam said, you behave like a child and that's why you get treated like one.
As for your closing accusations, I would love to hear you explain why I am "ungrateful" (Huh?!) and a "hypocrite". I really doubt you understand what these words mean as they seem tacked on, random insults plucked from thin air.
Anyway, let me end by saying 'well done', you finally did the right thing and congratulated Max. I'm not sure the gesture has any worth now, but at least you did it. Considering the mess you made of a simple congratulations, I guess we should be grateful you managed that without being arrested in the street nude with your head on fire.
give it up roberto darling
mess ?
you are nuts , what mess ?
so by saying not happy leads to this ?
wtf ?
i fail to see what is so bad about my comments , you have made a mountain out of a mole hill.
just leave me the f alone and just ignore me in future if you don't like what i have to say.
running me down all the time just p's me off , but then i guess you know that , and that's why you do it , just to upset me.
Slapstick, Slapstick, whatever will we do with you? I criticised you for failing to congratulate someone. A basic failure in good manners. After that, I was responding to your aggressive replies to me. It is not some personal vendetta. All my posts to you are reactive. Let me repeat that: R-E-A-C-T-I-V-E!
You have still failed to explain yourself or justify your accusations towards me: for instance, in what way am I "ungrateful"? Also, you have not acknowledged that you were making false claims or admitted that, for instance, I made no negative reference to your nomination. That's because you were wrong and are unable to admit it. Shameful.
The "mess" comment was comparing you to Laurel and Hardy (hence the use of the word "mess") and other nincompoops like Frank Spencer (from "Some Mothers Do Have 'Em") and Frank Drebbin ("Police Squad" and "The Naked Gun"). All of those characters - like you - have the ability to turn a simple act into a disaster.
Just been looking back over your recent posts, Thor8, and have to say I probably preferred your choice of the Swordsman over other candidates mentioned here. I am quite confident we'll see him, though, as he has such a long history. Less sure about Mantis, unfortunately, and it would be great to see her included. I loved the original storyline with her (and Swordsman) until it went competely bonkers in the nut and she married a tree.
As for civilians, I had forgotten about Jarvis and Wong. Yes, I would rather see characters like the Wizard, Karnak and Mr.Hyde, to name but three, included before the civilians but the longer the collection goes on the more justified their inclusion would be. The only problem I see is how incongruous will it look to have, say, a butler like Jarvis standing beside a cape-wearing god and a sentinel of liberty?
wow nice to see it's been quite on the blog over xmas :)
My dear wife got me a couple o gifts that really helped make my christmas day. Firstly a bottle of the rightly "legendery" Sex Panther cologne. Anyone who is a fellow fan of the almighty Anchorman will know how excited i feel." IT'S MADE WITH REAL BITS OF PANTHER, SO YOU KNOW IT'S GOOD".
Secondly she got me this huge tome called Marvel Chronicles , which basicaly indexes every event in Marvel history month by month from 1939 to 2008.
I fear it may turn me into some pub quiz bore:)
Go on ask me anything..
Thor 8 did you know That the only reason the hulk's original gray appearance was changed to green , was because the printing technique at the time could not reproduce the colour gray consistantly ?
Okay i can hear your yawns from here,
Hope you all had a lovely day in your own unique ways.
What does it say about Gwen Stacy, Ted? Stan Lee told me (in Amazing Spider-Man #427) that he regretted her being killed but there is other testimony from Gerry Conway and John Romita (Snr.) that, while he wasn't really paying atention, The Man okayed it.
And what does it say about the Gwen clone that appeared shortly aferwards? Conway says it was meant to appease angry fans, yet backfired spectacularly (pun unintended)...?
i have to disagree thor8. i don't think the inclusion of JJJ would mean that we got people like aunt may, mj, jarvis shortly after. the reason JJJ keeps cropping up is because he has actively set out to bring down the good ol' web slinger and therefore justification can be made to class him as a villain rather than a civilian. because of their more active roles in storylines you can probably justify thunderbolt ross and rick jones too but the rest of the 'civilians' are a long way off seeing the light of day in the collection due to their roles being more in the background.
but personally at this stage in the collection with all the major players done i wouldn't mind seeing some of the important civilian characters as i would rather have an important a-list character in civvies that i care about than a cool looking c-list character that i've only vaguely heard of.
Hmm. Interesting post, Mighty Marvel. By making the point that JJJ operates as a villain, you are favouring his inclusion on the basis that he drives plots, as opposed to, say, Jarvis or Betty Brant, who - despite hundreds of appearances - are in most cases peripheral to the main story.
If I may, I'd like to suggest criteria for the possible inclusion of a civilian in the collection. (Of course, there is some overlap and most if not all characters in 1 also qualify for 2.)
1. A civilian character who is/ has been central to many of the plots of a super-hero/s title/s and/ or appearances. Usually this means that the character drives the plot in some way and the superhero/s is/are reacting. (Examples would be JJJ for Spidey, "Thunderbolt" Ross and Rick Jones [Hulk, Captain Marvels].)
2. Longevity. A civilian character who has made hundreds of appearances, perhaps even from the first appearance of a superhero/s, and is closely associated with that superhero/s. (Examples here could be JJ of course but also Jarvis and several of Peter Parker's family/ associates like Aunt May, MJ and Gwen.)
3. Civilian characters that complete a family or grouping. (I would place the Frankin children here and probably Maximus the Mad [Inhumans], although he did wear some ridiculous headgear at times.)
I am not saying that I want these characters before the costumed characters but I would like them eventually. I particularly like the idea of Rick Jones, guitar hanging down his back, clashing his wristbands together above his head and Franklin and Valeria, the former wearing a t-shirt with a blue "4" on it. what does everyone else think?
Hi, i'm italian (sorry for my not perfect english).
I made a list of possible choices for a second and final extension for the collection.
I chose the figurines with a criteria. I hope, seriously hope, that these names
ends in the collection!
CLASSIC MARVEL FIGURINE COLLECTIONS
161-200
161. J. Jonah Jameson
162. Howard The Duck
163. Simon Garth, the Zombie
164. Rick Jones
165. Bushwacker
166. H.E.R.B.I.E.
167. Werewolf By Night
168. Brother Voodoo
169. Forge
170. Jigsaw
171. Franklin and Valeria Richards
172. Tombstone
173. "Thunderbolt" Ross
174. Hydro-Man
175. Namorita
176. Avalanche
177. Hammerhead
178. Puma
179. Shanna
180. The Jackal
181. Killraven
182. Dracula
From 183 to 199 you can choose others villains, heroes or civilians but these 20 are necessary.
It's good if there are also these specials:
- Barracuda;
- Lockjaw;
- Odin;
- The Power Pack.
Number 200 it's Stan Lee. One name for 183-199 can be the Owl, but i don't know!
I'm happy for Syrin! But i hope that these names ends in the collection. There are important!
Happy Holidays to everybody!
Fabio
Sorry Robert. My mighty reference tome doesn't go into great detail, Only certain storylines seem worthy of the odd anecdote , And the Gwen Stacy clone saga has an entry that must have been censored by Marvels " Ministry of Truth"
merely noting that" probably no one at marvel anticipated how much the death of gwen stacy would shock their readers"
Mind you reading this potted history has made me grateful that i missed at least a couple of marvel " events" Maximum Carnage for one and Spidermans clone saga both receiving less than glowing feedback from fandom in general ( it seems even us geeks hate being taken for mugs!)
But i have found some amusing stuff too Rawhide Kid mini series in which our hero was portrayed as openly gay. Bet that sold well in texas!
And after seeing a full page splash of the Bat- Thing I feel strangely compelled to hunt out this Marvel/ DC amalgam oddity Man-thing/ManBat???
P.S Fabio, In a perfect world i would be ecstatic to see your list being brought to lead?
Brother Voodoo, Werewolf, Simon Garth and Drac .But i fear all that horror in one extension could send some X- Zealots into meltdown!. Damn fine list though.
Well I'm glad other bloggers like the Swordsman, hope he makes it into this collection.
Ted;Hope you enjoy your chronicles. I happen to own a tome and find it's a great way for catching up on Marvel History.
Mighty Marvel; Your disagreement is well received and respected my friend, but we're not as much in disagreement as you might think. You see I totally agree with you that if a civilian is to be included it should be JJJ! What I was referring to when I mentioned the others was that other collectors would start nominating other civilians(who are not at a par with JJJ)just because they want to see them included. Just like Robert I believe there should be some strict guide lines as to why a civilian should be included in this collection
I believe that the correct term for ol'JJJ would be "foe" rather than villain. JJJ isn't truly evil he just dislikes Spidey and wishes to bring him down, but not kill him. He's opposed more than one hired hand from killing Spider-Man, and on various occasions has shown that beneath that rough, cold exterior there is a caring and respectful human being.
Hey I just noticed that the two bloggers that mentioned they'd have liked to see The Swordsman picked also, are Robert and Slapstick. So you see guys you "CAN" agree on somethings! So what say we bury the hatchet(but not in each others head PLEASE!)and start over again, after all a New year is almost here and as the aold song says "may old acquaintance be forgot"
Thanks for looking, Ted.
Thor8, your optimism is endearing and appealing. Sadly, it will no doubt be misplaced. How long will it be before Slapstick posts something that is rude, inaccurate, invented, accusatory, hysterical, dumb or all of the above? A day at best?
How do you others manage to bite your tongues? I know I have only been posting here a relatively short time, so perhaps you all started off by chastising him or being offended by him and then gave up? Or maybe you just ignore stupidity better? I don't know. I just find it hard to ignore his comments, like his sour grapes over Max's win. I have to admit that clashed with my basic sense of personal decorum and consideration towards others. He just seems to stick out like a sore thumb on here. Someone said that they "get a laugh" out of him. Is that what I am missing? That he's just a comic character that you let out of his box when things are quiet?
good choice of words in foe to descibe JJJ thor8. like you i also think robert is onto something with his classification of civilians. his band one civilians are the ones that deserve to be in in the near future. characters who have been integral to and driven storylines. imo there are only really the 3 people robert mentioned - JJJ, thunderbolt ross and rick jones. i do think these 3 should all be in before #220 if we get there. handily this would be one in each of the next 3 extensions. JJJ in 161-180 (has to be him first obviously), ross in 181-200 and rick jones in 201-220.
the band two longevity civilains probably should come some time after this. somewhere around #300 if we reach that figure. as most of the longevity civilians are spiderman based this would allow us to do figures such as tombstone, jackal, puma, arana, spot, swarm and maybe even morlun. if this point is reached then surely MJ and aunt may deserve their turn.
To Ted Sallis: i know. Most of the fans wants a list like mine but...Who knows?
I don't know if the editor can read my list and make a comment! It will be good to say if will be possible...
Like Mighty Marvel, I agree that Thor8's use of the word "foe" is a more accurate description of Jonah Jameson than "villain".
As for civilians who drive plots, I had expected there to be more than just the three I listed. (I had also wondered about Henry Peter Gyrich as a slight possibility in that category.) I am pretty ignorant of the X-universe after about 1985 and had assumed there'd be a few strong candidates from this corner of the MU. But that would need to come from someone who knows something about the mutant titles, 'cos it certainly isn't me!
i agree with Thor8, with the new year fast approaching can we all be friends again, that still gives us 5 days of Slapstick bashing though (hehe only joking)
as you all know i am against civilians being included but if i was forced to pick one then it would be JJJ, the word "FOE" is an excellent description of his relationship to old Web Head but i prefer to think of him mor as a pain in the backside as he cant really do anything to Spidey other than P him off.
and finally.....RICH.....i would be very pleased if in your next update you could confirm the specials for next year, preferably including ODIN
and really finally. Jacadoo where are you? i was quite interested to know who you would have chosen had you won the competition.
Pirate Adam
Just to clarify I have nothing against anyone here so Slapstick I was just having my say. That said I'm saying no more on the subject.
Now I too am looking forward to news about specials. Odin is certainly someone I would like to see, though isn't the next one Blob? I believe I speak for many of us when I say I'd like to see Northstar and Aurora as a double pack. Finally any news on any new mega specials after Fin Fang Foom? Onlsaught perhaps? He's certainly on my most wanted list!
would love a madame web special announced. would go some way to make up for the continued lack of good ol' JJJ :)
as well as odin and northstar/aurora obviously
i know lists can be annoying but i haven't posted one in a while and just wanted to share my new ideal line-up to reach 200 including specials

just wanted people's inputs on this. if/when there is a new extension who do you all think are the certs to be included. not your own personal wants but who you honestly think will make it next time.
personally i think that the following will definitely make the cut next time
arachne
forge
domino
hydro-man
karnak
photon
tigershark
Well done Max although I'm not upto date with this character a nice addition.
Slapstick dude just have a little respect for the other bloggers and try to get on. Mate you seem to be like a bottle of pop a little shake and you explode - peace my friend.
Pirate Adam sorry not been on the blog for a while - the endless listers are boring me to tears!!
My choice would have been Terrax, as I would like to have all of the Galactus hearalds.
@ Mighty_marvel: I made a list of possible characters of a new extension. If you look at it you will know that they aren't my own choice but names i read every single day i come to this board.
Maybe i put one or two name (Howard The Duck and Jigsaw) but the others are all yours. Also the specials (honestly i say Power Pack because they need a special).
P.s. Maybe a number for H.E.R.B.I.E. it's too much. It's good if H.E.R.B.I.E. will make his appearance along with Franklin and Valeria Richards!
Well, personally I'd prefer Mary Jane or Sif or Night Thrasher or etc, but Syrin is going to be a very beautiful figure (although I must notice that her bio is kinda short).
Congrats to the winner!
I'd like to second Jackadoo's call for more Galactus heralds. I recently bought the Galactus bust (from the Legendary scale series) and initially had the FF standing next to it. I now have the CMFC Silver Surfer standing next to it. (I didn't like the Surfer who came with Galactus.) Just last night - as I admired it again - I was thinking how cool it would be to have Air Walker, Firelord, Nova (Frankie Raye) and Terrax there, too. (I know there have been others like Morg but they were much less interesting and I'm not so bothered about them.)
If you are talking dead certs for the next extension then there are only a few...
Hydroman - there won't have been a SpiderMan villain since Chameleon and HM seems the most popular. Plus Rich pretty much said he would be in.
Tigershark - has narrowly missed out on two extensions now. he can't miss out on three.
Forge - I guess he is the biggest XMen name not done now. He has rode high on many poll on the forum so logically he is next in line.
Karnak - We have worked our way throught the Inhumans one by one and he is the last one left (bar Lockjaw)
Photon - In my eyes the biggest Avenger yet to be made. Another popular choice on peoples wants list and considering this extension was light on Avenger heroes I think she is obvious for the next.
After those its anyone guess. There are many third tier XMen and Avengers and any of them could be picked. Just because they are popular doesn't mean they will be made. EM have sensibly kept a few big names back before to stick in later extensions so they might do the same with the likes of Stingray, Domino, Tarantula, Beetle ect
No Big Bertha, Gremlin?! I thought she'd be a shoe-in! She could be teamed up with Pink Pearl in a Double-chin Double-pack!
Anywho, it's gone very quiet here. So how about a super-short questionnaire?
What figure would you love/ like to see that you know has absolutely no chance of appearing as part of the collection? Variants allowed.
My choice would be the original Captain Britain, with quarterstaff.
Och! Robert pal you took the words out of my mouth. The originalCap Britain lion rampant on his chestwith golden quarterstaff in hand would look simply fantastic . It is one of the few figurines i am dissapointed with . The guy we got was dressed in one of Sir Chris Hoys cast off cycling suits
good question Robert, mine is more of a hopeing that we never see, and it is......HOWARD THE DUCK!
please Rich do not ruin our collection with the master of Quack Foo.
Pirate Adam
You're right, Ted. The new costume look like some modern cycling gear.
I didn't buy the Captain Britain figure because, to me, it just isn't Captain Britain. I've modified a few figures - Ghost Rider, Black Panther - but didn't fancy my chances of painting a lion on anyone's chest.
I bought the original UK comics when they first came out and really liked them. That would be, what, October or November '76? I still have most of them today (and last year replaced the few that fell apart). I even have the free mask from issue 1!
I have to go. A bit of grit in my eye, you understand.
Ted, "golden quarterstaff"? Are you getting the original red-white-and-blue quarterstaff mixed up with the later (and golden) star sceptre, which was a shorter, more ornate weapon that allowed Cap to fly (unfortunately)?
The old noggin has been somewhat abused over the festive period Robert. I too can remember the early issues, None of your shiny gloss covers for us brits ,I think it was originaly printed on that old woodchip wallpaper :)
Alas i was quite the vandal towards my comics as a kid, not many survived, I was such a Gil Kane fan i used to cut the covers off and paste them to my wardrobe door god knows how many classics were defiled by my blunt scissors.
I was always a reader rather than a collector. I mean c'mon all this mylar bag and surgical gloves nonsense to bag up spidey # 609 was never my style . I am a bit miffed i cut the cover from an early Iron Fist that had Sabretooth's 1st appearance.
I'm beginning to wonder if we were separated at birth, Ted. Do you too carry yourself with a certain panache and have a way with the ladies?
Anyway, back on planet Earth, I also consider the term "collector" a somewhat derogatory term. I buy comics to read (and reread) them. But I have to begrudgingly admit that I like to be able to read complete storylines and that makes me a collector by default.
P.S. Don't mock the bags and backing boards. My old comics didn't get bagged for decades and they are now disintegrating.
Well to honest most of the comic stores i use online send every comic bagged and boarded i'm not that principled that i burn the bag and boards :)
I think it must go back to an incident in the late 1980's when shortly having arrived in the metropolis of London I discovered these bizzare things called comic shops .It had been almost a decade since i had gutlessly quit comics
( peer pressure and all that)
I remember just buying piles and piles of stuff all my old favs Astonishing Tales ( Deathlok) Man-Thing etc,etc .Then i asked if i could see The NM copy of Nick Fury agent of shield No#1 which was on the wall . Any old how upon trying to remove said masterpiece i managed to get both cellotape strips glued to the cover!!
The guy behind the counter looked at me as if i was holding a knife to his child's throat .Stop!! he shouted , All i could do was kinda laugh nervously and say It's okay pal i'll buy it The slightly flustered guy composed himself enough to remove the tape without any damage. All that for £ 7.50?
God bless Comic Showcase for reigniting the fire
ohh no!!
i've been reading comics for years but after a recent trip to America where i picked up a few copies of the new Thor run i have become somewhat of a collector, anyway my point is, am i going to end up like Ted and Robert in a few years? LOL only kidding chaps theres nothing wrong with collecting comics, i just wish i had more than i have (all bagged and boarded by thr way)
Pirate Adam
Hi Robert – I thought we were kindred spirits until you mentioned the accursed Galactus LS Bust!!
I have tried to buy this beast twice – first time the dealer cancelled my order (and kept my £260 +pp) – second time the bust was smashed to pieces in the post – to re-order and buy will cost me even more money!!
I would hope the heralds start making an appearance or even that they start getting a mention / promise as we must now be nearing the point in the collection where they will have to be considered for inclusion.
I echo Padams sentiment – I hate the Duck!!!
Hey anybody know where Baroni is these days?
Just hit me what's not quite right with the Tigra fig. Expertly sculpted as it is ,There is a problem with her facial expression , although her mouth is open there is no expression on her face , Her facial blankness reminnds me of Jack Nickleson in the cuckoo nest post lobotomy.
Robert, While looking through my Marvel Chronicles book i saw a reproduction of the cover to Marvel Team Up 66 featuring Cap Britain's 1st appearance in a US comic. wielding the later version of the mace that must have discombobulated my memory banks?
:) :)
Pirate Adam, you said that you wish you had more comics and I immediately thought "I hope you have a spare room!" I don't know how many I have but it has to be at least 10,000. I have no idea of the real number. And I'm not including a complete set of Masterworks and most of the Essentials. I had to convert my loft into a library!
Sorry about the tribulations with your Galactus bust, Jackadoo. It's a mite fussy in places - with what looks like a cannon on top of his helmet and Frankenstein-like bolts in his neck - and yet it's still rather imposing and impressive. I have a row of seven other 1:1 busts and it's easily more detailed than any of them. I'd persevere if I were you and eventually this'll get sorted. (Maybe I shouldn't mention this but play.com were selling Galactus for £200, including postage.)
Ted, I remember the MTU issues you mentioned well and bought them at the time they were published. I always loved the quarterstaff and just never took to the star sceptre. Sometimes people get things right first time at bat and there's no good reason to change things. I will probably make one eventually. My Thor hammer took months but it turned out pretty good!
Hmm, after this post I guess I am officially outed as what you call a hardcore fanboy!
Now forgive my dimness but does having a model on a 1:1 scale mean it is in essence life size? .If so just how huge is Galactus's head on that scale ? Did you have to build a special extension to house him? That would be classed as hardcore if not morer!!
The Galactus bust is from the Legendary Scale bust series, which means it's 50 per cent life size, i.e. half the size of a real head. With Galactus, who is obviously guarantuan in the comics, it is slightly more complicated and obviously not even half of "life size". A scaled 1:1 Galactus head would indeed be a sight!
1:1 busts are indeed life size. In the case of Thor, he looks even bigger than life size because he's a god. Spidey is realtively small and seems like a teenager's head is wearing the mask.
Let me know when you're next in Glasgow and you can pop round to see them, Ted. The wives can talk shoes...
Robert as soon as I move the hunt for Galactus will be on and thanks for the tip.
By the way did you see a Hulk 1:1 is on the way?
Number 9 for your collection?
A new 1:1 Hulk? I didn't know about that! I'll definitely take a look as I didn't buy the first 1:1 Hulk (designed by Alex Ross, I believe) as it didn't look quite right to me.
Glad the tip was helpful...
Not to be nosey, but where are you moving to? (In other words, any local comics shops?)
Oops. Just checked play.com and Galactus legendary scale busts are not there any more.
Apologies for the bum steer, Jackadoo.
Could only find a partial shot of one side of the head of the Sideshow Collectible's 1:1 Hulk, Jacadoo.
However...
...I think it was in the background of a promo video for a Vlad the Impaler figure...
...and it looks excellent.
It's looking like my bank account is going to hit another financial iceberg!
And apart from that problem, my shelf can only fit seven busts. Where the blazes will I put Hulk...?
Robert - yes I had already checked Play.com - no worries.
Glad to have been a service regarding Hulk. We are off to the Isle of Mann, where I will be working - - - - sorry it's a bank!!
I sympathise regarding space on the shelf, I now need a medium sized room for my collection (as I'm sure you do). Lots of Thor, Silver Surfer, Capt America etc.
Well ladies and gents i would like to sincerely wish you all a very happy and peaceful new year for you and your loved ones, As my old grey haired mum used to say " lang may yer lum reek "
Which is the equivilant of Mr Spock saying " Live long and prosper "
I hope we are all here at this time next year awaiting the result of the " choose the 200th fig competition"
Isle of Man is near enough for you to classed as local Jackadoo. My younger brother skippers a trawler and will soon be fishing the Irish sea again. After two fishing trips i realised just what a land lubber i was :)
Robert why not get yourself onto the shff , I'd like to see what Modifications you have made to certain figs. I recently took the plunge and attemted my 1st custom ( the DD yellow next to my name )
I found the custom community over there to be exteremely friendly and more than happy to share their knowledge.
I may attempt to turn the Surfer into the original Cap Britain in the new year.
If my aging eyeballs can deal with the strain. :)
Jacadoo, I wonder whose is bigger?
Comic collection, that is! What did you think I meant?
Seems our tastes are very similar. I have pretty much every Avengers (including West Coast), Cap, FF, Hulk, Spectac Spidey and Thor since about 1972. I have maybe 200 Amazing Spideys, a similar amount of DD, most of the 1980s Surfer series and complete runs of stuff like Dreadstar, Star Brand, Infinity Watch, etc., too. Not to mention all the UK reprint titles I bought in the 1970s, which number 500+. And it really does take up a ridiculous amount of space. No one ever warns you about things like that when you start reading comics. Ot how horrified women are by this hobby!
Happy New Year to all my pals on the blog and to Rich and the guys at EM, looking forward to another great year of this fantastic collection.
PEACE
Pirate Adam
Hi;Just want to wish you all a very Happy New Year, and may your collecting be merry through out all of 2010!
Speaking of collecting I happen to own A complete collection of Amazing S.M. including Amazing Fantasy #15 which my kid brother purchased for 5c when it was already worth over $900.00. I also have a complete run of Thor,Avengers,Spectacular, and recently sold my complete collection Of Iron Man,Sub Mariner and X-Men amoung others!
Happy New Year to all my fellow bloggers! Hope it's a good one (and that JJJ gets moved up the list! :)
Bloomin' 'eck, Thor8, that's one helluva collection. (It also explains why you seem to know more than anyone else on here, too.)
I can read entire runs of the main titles because I have Masterworks and Essentials to cover the early issues, but I've very few Silver Age originals. My collecting has slowed to a trickle because of the expense involved and I can't ever see me buying any more originals from before 1970. How on earth could you afford to buy all these oldies...? And why'd you sell Shellhead, etc.? (Sorry if that's prying, just curious.)
Oh, and Happy New Year to all!
happy new year to all
Robert – yours is defiantly bigger but some of mine are 14 inches – you are still talking about statues??
As a companion piece you may want to consider the Attakus Silver Surfer in Galactus's Hand Statue, to go along with the Glacatus LS bust (I found one as an example on ebay: Item number: 370102842281 – do not buy this one far over priced).
Hope I do not get you into trouble – but this looks awesome beside the LS bust!!
Anyway my wife says she will support my illness and statue addiction when we finally move and the LS bust will be MINE!
Mr Sallis does our resident Pirate know you have also sailed the seven seas?
Ted I have seen your DD – really nice first custom, I will be posting myself from Planet Hulks War Bound and a silver savage – in the next few days.
Happy new year to you all!!
Robert,if I tell you how I got my hands on so many silver age books you might think I'm older than Stan Lee himself, but the truth is I got most of them off the magazine racks when I was a little tot and happen to be the original and only owner of such.Others I purchased or traded when they were still affordable. The reason I sold complete runs of many of my silver age titles were due to space, economy, and to avoid sleeping in the dog house! Just like you I have many Masterworks in my collection so I can relive those days of yore.
Ted if you'd like you might want to get your hands on a tome of "The Marvel Vault" by Roy Thomas and Peter Sanderson. Just like the chronicles it has a rich contents of info from Marvel's beginning up til today, but unlike the chronicles it is loaded with many memorabilia and collectibles such as a copy of the program book from Marvel's first convention. items from The M.M.M.S. from the 60's, an assortment of Marvel stamps that were found in Marvel comics during the 70's, original art, photos unused covers ect. It's called "A museum in a book" and with good reason. Check it out if you can.
Thor8, old or not, I'm still mighty impressed. Up in Glasgow in the 1970s, it was ridiculously hard for a child to find the US originals and I had to content myself with the reprint titles like MWOM, Super Spider-Man Weekly, the Titans, Captain Britain, etc. A collector once told me that Amazing Spider-Man wasn't even distributed in Scotland for a good while. I was able to get my hands on Marvel Team-Up semi-regularly, and other titles very occasionally, from a used book store in Paisley and that was the best I could do. Even spinner racks in newsagents and at stalls were a rarity here, which makes me convinced you weren't living in Scotland!
But I totally get the space issue. If you continue to buy new comics and collected editions - as I do - then space is an ongoing problem.
On another point, I agree that the Marvel Vault is very interesting. I also enjoyed the talking-book Stan did with Thomas. I wore it out playing the last Stan comment: "Excelsior - that's for you, for your very own!"
Thanks for the info Thor8. Sounds the kinda book i would eenjoy. I love the comic book artist mags , such a treat to read the behind the scenes stories from the guys that created all those amazing childhood memories .
My silver age collection now consists of..... er..3 comics
Now i know some people hate lists but they are
Thor#'s 127 and 128
Marvel super Heroes # 14
I sold up my entire collection when i moved from London in the mid nineties, to be frank there is simply no way i could afford to replace them . So thank goodness for the masterworks and essentials.
Robert i recognise your early experiences of comic colecting up here in the 1970's .I never ever saw an issue of Amazing Spiderman in all the time i visited my rather quaint little corner shop.
But i'm eternaly gratefull that they stocked Marvel comics at all
PS
Now be honest was anyone one else here brainwashed by the guru called Stan Lee?
All that brand ecch stuff , the only time i touched a DC comic as a kid is if they had got mixed in the marvel pile .
I was 23 years old before i read my first DC book Frank Millers DKR
I was half expecting a van full of men in black to grab me as i left the comic store and take me off to the marvel farm for "reprogramming"
Ted, it's Marvel or nothing for me, too. No criticism of the DC stuff, just my personal taste.
As for The Man, I staggered out my last uni exam, having basically bagged an Honours degree, walked into FP, lifted that month's Amzing Spider-Man and saw that Stan had awarded me a No-Prize. Now, guess which gave me greater pleasure: degree or No-Prize?
My New Year resolution, incidentally, is to lose a half stone so my favourite t-shirt fits again. What does it say on it: "Stan Lee is my God!"
A NO-PRIZE!! My god Robert that makes you nerd royalty :)
What letters can you place after you name? Is it MMS? KOF?
Actually, Ted, I have two!
One for asking a question that Stan printed and one for explaining a Captain America-related continuity problem.
I have to admit that I can't remember the old acronyms.
Anywho, Make Mine Marvel!
WHATS THIS I HEAR ABOUT PEOPLE SAILING MY SEVEN SEAS!!! I SHALL SET THE CANNONS ON ANYBODY I FIND OUT IN MY DOMAIN!!!
did i frighten anyone?
NO!!!
mmm didn't think so :)
anyway im a marvel man also, im not against DC and there movies are better than the Marvel flics, the spiderman films are particualy bad and the guy they have cast for the upcoming Thor movie OMG.
anyway i digress, the upcoming SIEGE saga from marvel looks like being an extrodinarily good read.
and......
STAY OUT OF MY SEA'S (still NO? oh well)
Pirate Adam
where has everybody gone?
is it because i banished everyone from my seas?
Ok you can all come back now!
Piarte Adam
It's deader than Dr. Doom's sense of humour on here.
Anyway, can I ask, Rich, about the next special? Special issue #13 was to be Cloak and Dagger, and that has been delayed. Does that then mean that Blob will move from #14 to #13 in the Specials list? And, if so, which will come first: the Fin Fang Foom Mega Special or Blob Special? We've only seen a sneak peak of Foom, is that a clue...?
P.S. Jacadoo, the Attakus statue with Galactus' hand and the Surfer is indeed a cracker. Now, if I can only find someone giving them away...
Ted; Going back to the question you asked a few comments back about if anyone else was brainwashed by Smilin' Stan, I must confess,I can be added to the list. I've been a Marvel man for decades with only a few glimpses at other company's books. I read Deadman and Metal Men from DC and have The Return Of The Dark Knight mini series but other than that it's Marvel all the way! Oh Ted I forgot to mention before, I too felt that there was something quite not right with Tigra's facial look and after reading your observation went back and took another look at it and I believe your absolutely right. She looks completely expressionless. There is a lack of emotion in her face, she's like a blank emotionless zombie!
It was the dead of winter and the blog was deader than Steve Rogers (or not when he comes back to life).....
Robert glad you like my suggestion - can you feel my pain now?
Tigra is not good and looks a little "lost".
Please please Mr Foom before Fatty, if we hae a choice.
Rich, still thinking about the Specials, Mega Specials and possible Double Packs for 2010. Any chance that you will give us an idea of what we will see throughout the year?
As for Tigra, while I agree if you look very closely she looks rather blank, I am more interested in the overall pose. The Tigra figure is, in my opinion, pretty good and I'm happy with it but it has to be said that she is not adopting a very cat-like pose. To me, the sculptor concentrated on the flirty, promiscuous part of her personality. (Incidentally, on the subject of poses, I still think Spidey should have been slightly crouched, one arm outstretched, middle fingers pressing the palm activator for his web-shooters. But maybe it's just me...)
Maybe Rich can ask for pose suggestions on figurines still to be designed...? It's like a low level of input that's not quite as much fun as picking a figure but keeps us all chattering away on here... just a thought.
So, with the exception of a few diehards like Ted, Thor8 and Pirate Adam, where's everyone gone? Still reading the comics they got off Santa? Even my "nemesis" is quiet...
I agree with robert on the subject of poses. there were a number of figurines whose posture i absolutely did nor like:
Cap Britain (ok so it was the Alan Moore pose but it does not look cool in real life)
Ghost Rider (too neutral...i'd have him brandishing his bikechain)
Hobgoblin (omg that one was awful!there was so much source material that would ve made it better!it was like he was desperate for a hug!) with havok and black bolt in almost the same pose as CB and GR. I have many good source materiel in my blog which could ve been better!
My asbolute favorite poses in these figurines? obviously blade and captain america ;)

I agree abou the less than dramatic pose of spidey, I heard an interview with Romita snr who stated if you draw Spidey standing still then you are not drawing him properly, Spidey should whenever possible be portrayed hanging upside down, clinging to a wall , leaping or at the very least looking like he was about to leap.
I do though have a solution for you Robert , simply apply a little superglue to the spidey figs base then attatch to the underside of your display shelf and voila!
No need to thank me Robert :)
Pirate Adam Tis been half a score years n more since last i sailed the seven seas ( well the English channel to be precise)
When several tons of heavy metal almost removedfingernails from knuckle upwards , I remembered how much i missed being a landlubber :)
Why stop with Spidey, Ted? Haven't Spider-Woman and the Black Widow the same wall-crawling powers? So they, too, could be hung upside down. And I could saw half of the Vision off and pretend he is rising up from the ground. And Iron Man, Sentry, etc. can all fly, so I can suspend them by wire or catgut. Oh, nearly forgot, I could also leave a space between Reed and Johnny and hide the Invisible Woman in a cupboard! My God, you're a genius, Ted! ;)
Loving your suggestions Robert . However could i offer you one more little tip.? I too hid my invisible woman fig in the airing cupboard and just left a space between Johnny and Sue , But there was something missing ( apart from the invisible woman fig natch.)
Then like a little clout from Thor's mallet it struck me! just remove the invisible woman fig from it's base ,Fill in the two holes and repaint the base now place this empty base between sue and johnny and i can assure the effect is quite stunning!
Right i am just off to hacksaw through the visions torso ,
This has been a damn productive brain storming session Robert :)
I have a more interactive suggestion for the Vision. Instead of hacking him in two, his arm is outstretched, so you could cut it off and remove a section of the forearm. Then you could glue the hand onto a bad guy's upper body and stand Vision behind him. Viola, Vision is partially materialising a limb inside a villain and saving the world one more time! (You'll notice that Scarlet Witch is trying to distract the villain but asking them, "How many fingers am I holding up?")
No charge, Ted! :)
I'm beginning to see why Stan deemed you worthy of 2 no-prizes Robert :)
I've kinda lost track of the confirmed special / mega special line up. Are there still available slots for the 2010 schedule?
Will Odin be released to coincide with the Thor movie in 2011?
Will Mr Sinister retain his status as my personal fav fig?
Aw, shucks, Ted, you're makin' me blush.
Actually, I had the same thought about the Thor film with regards to the Warriors Three. As long as we get them, and they're true to the comics (rather than Iron Man Mk.I from the film, ugh!), I can be patient. Not sure Rich has thought about the triple-pack idea with any seriousness. Speaking personally, I'd love to see them made. There's not nearly enough Asgardians!
For Odin! For Asgard! For Glory!
Thor 8 that is a very impressive collection . What i think is especialy nice is that you ( and your bro) built the collection from childhood, There must be some great memories contained in those old classics,
Where as i spent far too much time and money in the early 90's trying to create my dream collection . Eventually the strain on my bank balance and my girfriends nerves meant i had to concede defeat.:)
Your collection also reminded me of a movie i saw a few years back, I think it was called Comic book villains . It was about two rival comic store owners trying to get their hands on the ultimate comic collection . It was really rather good as i recall. Better than most superhero movies methinks.
Yes Ted there are many fond memories in my collection. I always recall that Wednesdays were Marvel comics day and my teacher would dismiss us from class one row at a time. The row whom were the quietest, sitting straightest, ect were the first dismissed. My row was composed of Marvel Madmen(or is that mad kids?)and boy if anyone dared to so much as blink or sneeze causing us to be dismissed second, third or last would have to make preparations to move to the Skrull galaxy before we got our hands on him (or her).Once dismissed we would dash to the nearest newsstand (no comics shops in those days). Nearing the newsstand the traffic cop would be expecting us and would stop traffic in order to let us cross the street. Once on the other side various employees from the stand would be waiting for the tidal wave of kids arriving and form them in a single line so they could get there weekly dose of Marvel comics. I tell you Ted I would have won the Gold medal in the Olympics in those days I'd always made it either first to third in those races to the stand. Ah what memories, now if you'll excuse me I need to get a hanky!
If you'll forgive me butting in, Thor8, I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your story.
In the sixties and seventies, comic buying really was different from today. Without any specialist comic shops, just finding comics was tricky, often involving long journeys and ingenuity with meagre pocket money. We also had fewer distractions - no computer games or internet, no video or DVD players, fewer tv channels and certainly fewer toys - so the comics were perhaps much more appreciated.
I'm not trying to paint those days as some idyllic scene, in many ways they were restrictive and shabby, but still, that era of comic collecting was our own personal golden age and I wonder if, subconsciously, we still read comics because we miss those days.
Ah wonderful memories Thor8.
If i remember correctly the british weekly reprints from the 70's used to come out on a wedneday .The wait for those sought after colour Marvels all the way from the U.S used to be excruciating. Every third week i would always start to detour to the sweet shop on my way home from school . It was about thirty yards from the doorway to the comic rack at the bottom of the shop, I swear i could tell when any thing had been added to the rack .
It's hard to explain to a non believer the excitement i used to feel as a kid when a fresh pile of these fantasticly exotic comics arrived in our tiny scottish town .
For me they remind me of one of the happiest periods of my life , they defined my childhood , I stopped reading comics at around 13 maybe 14 years old. I remember the day when my former comic reading friends caught be holding a comic and rather sneeringly said " you don't still read those, do you?"
We were just getting interested in Punk rock and these strange creatures called girls, So the last thing i wanted to become was an outsider. So i rather meekly surrendered my favourite hobby.
This lovely little collection has just triggered so many happy memories from my golden age of comics, long may it continue
True story.
My darling wife was watching "Celebrity Mastermind" tonight and one of the four entrants was DJ Paul Gambaccini. After the programme she said, "I never could make my mind up about that Paul Gambaccini guy. Sometimes he seems okay and others times a bit of a twit. I've figured out what's wrong with him: he's a DC fan."
So, do you think she's been listening to me too much or what?
some nice little stories there guys i remember when i used to be able to pop around to the local newsagent and have my pick of Marvel Comics. these days i can only get them online as there isn't a comic book shop anywhere near where i live, maybe its a good thing the old wallet takes a pounding as it is.
noticed Slapstick hasn't posted for a while, however slapstick, if you do still read the posts then dont think that people dont want you on here i'm sure even Robert doesn't want you to vanish from memory, anyway its been very quiet for the past couple of days and one of your controversial comments may liven things up
Pirate Adam
He won't believe me, Pirate Adam, but you're right in saying that I don't want Slapstick to go away. (Even if he rather hilariously refers to me as his "nemesis".) I only insist on my right to speak up when I think someone has been rude to, or made false allegations against, myself or others.
As for your invitation for controversial comments, I can't help feeling that - despite the potential for comedic nonsense - you may have made a rash offer...
RASH? possibly, but lets face it, Slapstick does make some controversial comments so although i may ahve been rash i also think it is inevitable that should slapstick make a return it wont be long until he says somthing to upset somebody. even so i wish he would come back as i do get a laugh out of him, and he is a nice chap deep deep down.
Piart Adam
lol if both slapstick and robert vanish from this site we could say he's taking a leaf out of the sentry's or blue marvel's book...both *ahem* hero and *ahem* nemesis vanish.
btw i also noticed no one really commented again on the idea of poses. it's an interesting idea especially since many figures share a similiar pose, for example: Ultron, Captain Britain, Wonder Man, Ghost Rider, Havok and Black Bolt. Then there is the downright ridiculous poses: Vulture and Hobgoblin. There is PLENTY of source material that would grant them a much better pose. I wonder why eaglemoss can't help making many of the same pose
Well let me see if i can remedy the lack of controversy !
Firstly i would like to assure you i am not about to head off on some longwinded meandering nostalgia fix ( are those sighs of relief i can hear? :) )
Now there have been debates on upcoming costume choices such as cannonball, and the lady from Excalibur? . As i have little knowledge of these characters i am quite happy to leave it to the fans that care about them to offer their opinions
One character i do have an interest in is Balder ,I noticed a few weeks ago over on the forum that his Walt Simonson look(s) from the 1980's were garnering some support.
PLEASE! Rich don't do it!!
The early kirby look is cool . The Oliver Copiel modern look is frankly fantastic .
I love him with his wild boar? cape , he looks like a norse god that spends his time in the frozen wastes kicking ice giants arse.
Walt is a genius artist/ writer but he ain't no fashion designer. It is with good reason that the 1980's are known as the decade sartorial taste forgot.
Somebody posted up a Walt illustation of Balder holding two swords .( sounds great ) unfortunately he was dressed in THEE biggest single crime against fashion i have ever seen ! It was pink and yellow?
It looked like poor Balder had gotten dressed in the dark in Elton Johns wardrobe circa 1978.
Rich, I will write you a cheque this very minute if you can assure me no Simonson look.
Well my fellow Asgardins smite away. :)
The problem with welcoming controversy, PA, is that Slapstick often understands that term to mean personal attacks, unfounded allegations and just plain old-fashioned rudeness towards bloggers here. I've had to defend myself numerous times against the above. And I've had to defend someone else very recently against the rude and bitter posts Slapstick makes. You may get a laugh out of him but, no offense, I dislike reading insults directed towards me or anyone else. Yeh, I'm big enough to look after myself and give as good as I get. The point is I shouldn't need to when I'm amongst "friends".
Ted, after your post about Balder, I went off and had a look at him.
You are right to say the Simonson look is rather garish, even if his helmet and overall costume are very Kirby-esque. However, I just randomly pulled out a Masterwork and the colouring from the Kirby era is rather loud, too. I looked at MM80, Thor Vol.6, page 67. It's a splash page with Balder, Thor and Sif. Balder's body is covered in armour (coloured purple in this issue and royal blue in later issues!) with an orange tunic. Orange?! I'm going to go back up to the loft and look for other images from Kirby but I was wondering if you had a particular issue or look in mind...?
Crowrider, on the subject of poses, you're the second person to criticise the Hobgoblin pose. Hmm. I actually thought it was good. I'm beginning to wonder that if we have a debate about favourite poses there will be huge disagreement and this won't be any help to Rich and the team in picking a pose... Another well-intentioned idea bites the dust...
hello folks , does anyone know when the next update will be please ?
i think Balders current look is his best and would like Rich to go with this, PLEASE!
Pirate Adam
I agree Balder current look is cool!
Hopefully Blog udate on friday.
perhaps you're right robert...what i dont get is that he looks as though he s wanting a big hug or he wants a to share a waft from his armpits.oh well...
in other news...BRING ON QUASAR & BALDER SNEAK PEAK! Balder's one of the few whose original looks (in this case, the kirby look) i exceptionally like, however i prefer the modern version. there's something quite impractical in the size of the horns of the balder's helmet in kirby's designs while the rest of the costume's cool...but i prefer his current look anywhoo. still i wouldnt mind the kirby look
Och, Crowrider, it is practically obligatory for a Kirbyverse Asgardian to have preposterous horns on their helmet! Balder's are actually quite restrained compared to the curved horns on Loki's and Heimdall's helmets. Odin's headgear is often ridiculously unwieldy and as for Hela, well, it just gets mad. No wonder they spent a lot of time outside - they couldn't pass through doorways!
Meanwhile, for some reason Thor ended up with delicate wings and a tiny point onhis helmet! I know Hercules has criticised it but do you think the other Asgardians made fun of the Odinson behind his back?
Not to belabour the point, but check out Odin's headgear on the covers of Journey into Mystery #116 and #127. The former is particularly ugly, the latter gloriously impractical.
Robert i know the reason why Thor only has a small helmet with wings on the side and i shall enlighten you all.....if Thor was drawn with huge horns or headress like Hela, Loki, Odin, Balder and so on, the fact that Thor was appearing in that many Comics at the time, the artists would have run out of inks to draw him.
no need to thank me chaps, it was my pleasure!!
Guys come on whats wrong with pink and yellow outfits?
No seriously Balders wild boar costume looks the best.
Regarding out friend slapstick - its OK to have fun in the blog but please keep the nasty personnal insults out.
Regarding poses - we are limited due to the production process - gravity fed casting (if I am not wrong) so we are stuck pretty much to arms and legs in line with the body.
To try and get more dynamic poses CMF would have to move figurine structure to one similure to War Hammer, that require assembly after casting - and cost a lot more in terms of finished cost.
Hope this helps.
But before I go - only with Asgardians do you really have to question this years fashion, now us macho Olympians no such debate (please forgive Herc's leather tights).
Just read the Viper magazine . It contains an excellent article on Steranko. I had no idea just how few comics the great man worked on , Yet his impact is still felt to this day.
Many thanks to Jacadoo for his info regarding poses.
I think a while ago i was asking why there couldn't be more variety ,Well now i know the answer.
Macho Olympians??? didn't Zeus wear a dress and Herc wears a skirt (Thor made Hercs costume look macho though). Us Asgardians like to wear armour and dead animals, now thats Macho!!(with a capital M)
Robert, i must appologise, i never meant to imply that i would welcome anybody abusing anyone on else this blog, i just didn't word my comment very well "SORRY"
Pirate Adam
Looooool! hope that Odin's helmet for the collection's not as hideous as the journey into mystery ones XD
As for Balder, though, the pink/purple is not a problem it's been a constant in his look since the very beginning, like thor's blue and red and loki's yellow and green.
Wouldn't this pose have been simple and yet dynamic for hobgoblin? http://www.comicvine.com/hobgoblin/29-7605/all-images/108-214646/2/105-633191/ i mean, dc figurine collection had more dynamic poses and yet they cost the same as this collection. This pose is similiar to their creeper so i really don't see the problem (no offense rich) but at least, if you can't get them redone, don't repeat poses if possible (such as: captain brit-ghost rider-ultron-havok-wonder man and luke cage - ikaris - jack of hearts and sunfire-hercules-nomad)there's plenty of source material in comicvine.not to be annoyingly whiny but just as a suggestion.
btw...kudos to the postures of tigra, gorgon, titania and gladiator and ESPECIALLY Annihilus!
Just jumping on the Balder debate. I am not a big fan of his because I haven't read much with him in so I will leave the serious debating up to the true fans. But I have seen his older costume with the satellite antenna on top and his newer regal one and I have to say I prefer his modern look.
I know the pink/yellow look is classic but it is so ugly. It really is. This may be one of those times EM should ditch the classic and go for the modern without any thought. There have been times when this hasn't worked (crystal, Rogue, Mystique) but rest assured you will be making the right choice.
No need to apologise, PA. I didn't really think you agreed with personal attacks. I just want to be very clear for Slapstick on what is and isn't polite behaviour for when he makes his now-much-anticipated return. No one wants the two of us slugging it out on here again. Oh, and while I agree that the Asgardians make the Olympians look like wine-sipping Jessies, PA, there's nothing wrong with men wearing "skirts"! Try telling the Tartan Army they're 'effeminate'!! :)
As for Balder, and "classic" costumes, in general. It's not really an issue of aesthetics for me. It's more about what the character looked like when I was wee, or what he or she has looked like for most of his/ her history. (Which is a point Crowrider touched upon.) Balder has been wearing the boarskin for all of five minutes. How many appearances with it? Twelve, fifteen? How many in Kirby costume or close variant? Hundreds, if not thousands. The new costume does, thankfully, still look like Balder but I'm a bit worried that the concensus here is in favour the modern look. I can't deny that the new costume does look very good; still, I would always go 'classic'.
Jacadoo, thanks for the explanation about the producion of the figures. It was something that had not occurred to me.
Oh, Ted, if you think Balder has committed crimes against fashion you really should go and have a shifty in Wonder Man's wardrobe...
Robert, Hercs is more of a mini-skirt compared to a Kilt which only true man can wear in commando fashion!!
Yeh, you're right, PA, it's not the same thing. I wasn't really defending the lazy, pampered, effete Olympians over the manly, hardy and adventurous Asgardians. That would be just silly.
Mind you, on reflection, if given the choice between battling vicious creatures in a frozen landscape and lying around on soft cushions, being handfed by comely maidens in see-through dresses, the Olympians may be on to something!
It may be a bit rich ( ha Rich .. see what i did there ?.. ah suit yerselves )
Anyhoo it may be rich for me to champion Balder's latest look as i have a history of moaning about other characters who have been given the modern treatment.
The worst offender by far being Doc Ock ... I mean what is it? Is he the Doc Ock from the Ultimates universe? or was he on his way to a matrix fancy dress party?
Doc ock is a short tubby guy with a haircut only his mother could have gave him wearing bifocle prescription glasses.
But hey that's all ancient history .
It would be interesting to see what Rich and co have in mind for Balder. Don't know how far along the sculpt is . A concept sketch as you did with Gorgon would be great
Problem is, if we go modern with Balder does that mean we will go modern with every Asgardian from now on? Remember that we already have classic Thor and Loki and will get a classic Enchantress. Won't they look a bit odd when placed together? Would it not be better to stick to one period, i.e., classic? I'm not very knowledgeable about the X-characters and may be completely wrong about this, but aren't they a bit of a mishmash of different eras and demonstrate the point I'm trying to make?
wouldn't disasgree with your assesment Robert .If there is to be a consistent look to the Asgardian figs the classic look is the obvious choice and i'm pretty sure that will be Rich's thinking as well.
2OO ish regular/ special/ mega figs into this collection and i have finally found a character whose modern look i prefer to his classic. That's a purely personal opinion , i certainly won't be upset to see Balder in his classic duds
i agree with ted sallis , doc oc would have looked far better in his yellow and green costume
As I said I am not fussed about Balder and if his classic costume is the one the fans want the most then so be it. I definately understand the argument of the fact his modern one has only been worn a few years and his classic is the one her wore for 40+ years. I suppose its no contest really, but we'll see.
Its a gamble for EM really. Will the new costume be the iconic one to last decades or will it disappear into obscurity once the title gets a new writer.
Balder smalder the lady boys from Asgard are sooooooo last year - Olympus is where men are men and ladies are thankful (the last comment entered while my wife was out of the room).....
Olympus Bah! buncha weirdo's.
Give me Asgard any day , where men are men and ...er!.. so are quite a few of the women as it happens.
The thought of Loki squeezing himself into a wonderbra is most unsettling :)
Olympians, pah! Only an Olympian like Hercules would be daft enough to sign a contract to be Lord of Hades, believing it to be an acting contract in Hollywood! THEN, need the help of an Asgardian (Thor) to pull his fat from the (literal) fire! When has Thor needed Hercules to rescue him from Hel? (Answer: never.)
An Asgardian would never be so stupid! An Asgardian would never consider acting a manly pursuit! Asgardians are tough-as-teak, old school footballers. Olympians are pampered, metrosexual, modern footballers like David Bloody Beckham!
And The Incredible Hercules is a truly rubbish comic.
A quick check through my extensive silver age collection tells me you are spot on with your psychological profiling of Hercules. He is indeed "dumber than a bag of hammers" as Odin probably once remarked!
Oh you Asgardians are sooooo touchy!!
You talk about your costums be they pink, be they yellow, be they lime green - nice - and lets not start you on the subject of hats and helmets and size of horns etc.
Seriously guys when was the last time you saw Odin with a honey on his arm - cant blame him though, would you take that chance in Asgard, based on the evidence of Loki?
Now Zeus is a mans man and has no need of a big helmet (I know I said it), to impress the ladies.
Lets not metion Asgard is now a trailor park in the mid-west....
Robert and Ted, i have known Jacadoo for i little longer than you guys and i must tell you he will give as good as he gets in this little Asgardian GODS vs Olympian Wannabes debate. even though deep deep down he knows that Olypus is no match ASGARD be it in fashion or arse kicking i doubt he will give up any time soon, but at least he knows how to take a joke.
Piarte Adam
Ouch! Haven't read Thor for a few months . I take it from Jacadoo's jibe , that poor old Asgard is still floating over Marlboro country like a novelty hot air balloon.
What does Heimdall do without the Bifrost bridge security guard job ?
Are there any Roman gods inhabiting the Marvel Universe?
PA i'm well aware of Jacadoo's formidable debating skills. I will take some good humoured banter over endless extension lists anyday :) :)
never fear Asgardians!! if that pesky Jacadoo starts to get the best of us we still have Thor8 waiting in the wings hahahaha he cant take us all on
Cool. Go out for a while and things get interesting.
Ah, Jacadoo, the reason Odin doesn't eye up the bimbos (yes, it's a deliberate pun) is that he's already sown his wild oats and aged gracefully. Zeus is just a dirty old man who doesn't want to admit he's no longer a young stud. He's like the embarrassing uncle who tries to chat up his niece's pals.
Now don't get me wrong, I like Hercules. He's likeable, sociable and chatty. He's also honourable and trustworthy, as you would expect of a hero. It's also true that he's basically a Himbo. Who else would go out on the lash, come back to Avengers Mansion and wind up on the end of a beating that puts him in a coma? Even noted alcoholic Tony Stark or impulsive, leap-before-I-look Clint Barton wouldn't be that dumb!
Jacadoo, I await your response, my worthy foe!
Typical day for an Asgardian: Get up at dawn. Eat leg of animal you hunted the previous day. Be given mission: revenge the murder of a family by renegade band of Frost Giants. Tramp over treacherous mountain paths at temperatures of minus 40. Be attacked by two-headed wolves. Watch brother eaten alive. Slay wolves. Be ambushed by band of Storm Giants. Fight for three hours. Have left arm amputated by axe during battle. Kill all the Storm Giants. Bury dead comrades. Return to Asgard victorious.
Typical day of an Olympian: Get up (at noon). Apply suncream. Be fed by someone else. Have nap. Make a vase. Have a kip. Listen to someone sing a song about flowers. Turn over. Ponder some existential conundrum. Bed.
Robert you forget the most important part of an Olympians day.....
Laughing our nether regions off at the Asgadians getting up really early (probably just to decide what outfit to wear), eating yesterdays left overs, poking their cosmetically enhanced noses into a family feud (when a simple asbo would have done the trick) then running around in the cold.
I think you may be telling lies about the wolves - as in Olympus we call these Chihuahuas.
As for loosing arms - please just be more careful where you leave them.
Fighting for three hours - dont waste so much time - just stop running away!!
True we Olympians dont get up until noon - because we have been up all night drinking, womanising and imagining how our Asgardian brothers will make fools of them selves in the morning.
I think I am safe for a few more posts – the blogs resident Asgardian seems to be missing, please note: I do not make any mention he may be out - having his hair done with his sister / brother / it.
Your right sure beats the hell out of endless lists!!
PAdam just re-read your comment even if Thor8 comes back - you know us Olympians are slightly slow - it will probably take repeated beatings before I grasp I have been beaten!!
Now wheres Avengers mansion - I can feel a coma coming on....
I can't help noticing that you haven't actually defended Hercules' bufoonery, niavete and alcoholism, Jacadoo...
Anyway, Olympians may have more fun but if I wanted someone covering my back in a sticky situation, it wouldn't be a vase-making, flower-sniffer with a rampant libido. It would have to be a mean, battle-toughened Asgardian every time.
Have to admit I liked the crack about getting up early to pick what outfit to wear. But...
..."cosmetically-enhanced noses"...?
Huh?
is it just me, or the ppl who update the sight have put in jubilee instead of shang chi on issue 111?
Odins Typical day at the moment:
Fight the fire demon Surtur to death and die in the process, all to stop Surtur returning to earth and causing chaos, then turning Herc into his personal toothpick before getting his butt kicked by Thor. Now Odin must get up the next day and do it all again. Not even manly thats GODLY
ZEUS' typical day:
Get up past noon with a banging hang over, scratch butt and sniff fingers without anybody looking, wrap sheets he just slept on around himself and pick some nice leaves from a tree to put in his hair and declair "i am dressed", call maidens to cool him down with giant fans, while spending a few hours thinking about how Herc is a dissapoinment to him and how he wished he had a heroic son and not a loud mouthed beer swilling oaf who thinks with his johnson rather than his head. Zeus then decides he's hungry and has a maiden feed him some manly GRAPES then starts getting drunk again and wonders what he will do tomorrow :)
Jacadoo my friend i am sure you will have a great comback but you must realise its 3 onto 1 and you will be destroyed
Pirate Adam
Fingers crossed for a blog update today. Something about the upcoming specials would be nice :)
giedeWell Jacadoo my former comrad in arms it seems it's not necesarry for me to debate the superiority of my people over the soft and boarish Olypians, for my faithful "Warriors Three" Robert,Ted and Pirate have more than done enough head bashing in my name to demonstrate that the people of fable Olympus though friends they be,are no match for the fierce Aesir. I have no doubt that you are under the spell of my evil brother Loki and have high hopes that you will soon come to your senses and return to the fold. Once again my warriors three I salute thee for thy fathfulness in the line of battle! ONWARD!
Pirate Adam really liked the look of the bowen Odin statue you posted over on the forum.
Would like to see him standing , Having him seated on throne would i imagine bump up the pricepoint considerably with all the extra weight.
As some wag pointed out the bowen sculpt of Odin does appear to show him belting out "Danny Boy" at the Valhala end of year buffet / karaoke.
C'mon Rich confirm the big guy you know you want to!
It's not "Danny, Boy" that Odin is singing, Ted, it's "Simply the Best!"
Well Robert i have it on good authority that the all fathers version of the REM classic " It's the end midgard as we know it "
would bring a tear to a glass eye
Well it's friday and here I am waiting for a new post from Rich.
I'd like to hear you comment on what specials will be added this year. I sure hope Odin is amoung them as well as a Goliath mega special.
I'd also like to see an update on your main site. It seems as if the neww people in charge of this are as slow as the previous lot.
I'd like to see some sneak peaks also. Specially The Wasp if Possible.
Still no sign of an update yet then...Rich must be really busy to miss 2 weeks now! Let's hope he has some nice surprises on the way for when he does update, maybe more sneak peaks? I'm hoping for pics on finished Blackheart, Crimson Dynamo, Pyro or Drax the Destroyer and hopefully more news on specials. Fingers crossed!
